If you could travel, would you?

So, if you could travel within your own province (since we can't leave our province without quarentine lol), would you?

Example: would you go to a hotel for a night just to get out of the house? Or go to a lakeside cabin for a couple nights, again, just to change the scenery?

No. Cottage country hasn't got the medical supplies/personnel to deal with an influx of people who may bring the disease or may simply get sick. But if I knew I was well and not bringing the disease with me, I might go to see my parents. I don't want to do anything that will expose them (in their 80s), though, just to be a help.

There is no way you can be sure you are not bringing the virus with you

I would love to go hang out in Peterborough where we rented a cottage last year. We just cancelled this year's rental and moved our cruise to next year as far out as we could go out. Our flights have been really empty, yes people are still flying but not very many. Most of our fleet is parked and I am now laid off. My only vacation will be livingroom to family room.

Punta Sofa to Puerto Patio for us!

I wish we could go to the family cabin! We always bring our own supplies out with us and it’s only an hour away, so if we needed medical care we would just drive back.

But then I think of those people who actually went north, risking infection of an entire community with limited/no resources. A change of scenery isn’t worth risking communities with limited access to care, especially for their Elders and more at-risk people.

There is a campground literally 5 minutes from our house we used to go so often we kept a record of the sites we had backed the rv into and tried to set up on each one until the kids outgrew it. We sold it 2 years ago :(
