If you could start any business...what would it be?

My husband talks about two businesses...a car wash and a go-cart track. Neither appeal to me.

I've always wanted to own a bakery or a simple home cooking restaurant/bar/lounge. Also travel agent, in which I am currently trying to set up now:thumbsup2

A dance studio.

I also make a mean fudge, so a bakery has sounded good lately. ANYTHING to get me out of my current career!!!:sad1:

I am considering a tutoring business. I can pick and choose how many kids to tutor and what days and times. I can also double my salary as a teacher and work half the hours and have less paperwork. My dad has been telling me this for years, but I am just now considering it. Only time will tell. We only have one tutoring company around, and they are booked solid with a waiting list. This is a good sign for a newbie.

A pumpkin farm and small garden center! Or florist. I LOVE that flowers and plants can make someone so happy...and pumpkins are just fun!

I would love to own a dance shop and sell leotards, tights, shoes, hair products, costumes, warmups, bags... kind of a one-stop shop deal. I would also love to run a dance studio.

Outside of dance, I would probably go for a bookstore or a coffee shop.

I just want a little Etsy shop. :) Nothing big, just a little extra cash for doing something I love.

Be careful what you wish for because it just might come true. :)

I started selling on ebay and etsy, sales started lagging for what I was selling, changed things around, and then started another business which was homebased since I wanted to be home for my kids. That was back in 2007.

Now that they are older I have branched into 3 different divisions with a retail location. I can't put myself out there because of privacy reasons, but it's been a nice ride. Good luck to all.

If you really want freedom make it an internet business. We manufacture and sell products that my wife invented. All the sales are done through her website. We don't even publish a phone number.

We work at home, set our own hours, travel whenever we want, and the USPS comes right to our door to pick up shipments. It couldn't get much better!

I have am working on a business plan at the moment. Not ready to say what it is, other than that it revolves around weddings.

Formal clothing store for "plus size" that would have wedding dresses, formal gowns, and big runway to show off the stuff in the store.

Sounds like the Hefty Hideaway on Hairspray, lol! I'm sorry, I'm sure you're probably not joking but when I read your post I had this image of Mr. Pinky and Tracy Turnblad modeling while eating a donut, lol!! But I totally agree, I am btw regular and plus size and I can never find regular clothes let alone formals.

I've always wanted to start my own cable station, it's always been a dream of mine. :cloud9:

On a smaller scale I'd like to open a cupcake shop. I love baking!

I'd love to open a bookstore! A used bookstore or own a Barnes and Noble :) OR a used bookstore that sold only kids/YA books, i'd be in heaven haha!

I would fix up an old movie theatre and open it. Make the employees wear the little usher uniforms that make them look like bell hops.

Or possibly open a little coffee/cookie internet cafe.

In this era of Kindles, Nooks and other e-readers, I think a bookstore might be facing a shrinking market.
