If you could pick only 1 restaurant to eat at...

I am going to Disney World Nov 17-22 and am on a very strict budget. I'm only going to one nice restaurant.

I've been to WDW too many times to count. The only places I've eaten at (besides the typical quick-service places) are The Crystal Palace and Mama Melrose's.

I've read countless reviews, but picking just ONE place is so hard! It is rather overwhelming!

It is me and my boyfriend. He eats just about anything. I hate most seafood (how tragic; I live on The Gulf Coast. lol).

Of course because of Budget reasons, I can really only afford breakfast or lunch. Buffets are good because they have a lot of food! If I have to pay for entree/dessert seperate, I will more likely to just buy the entree and drink ice water to save money.
I'm really leaning towards lunch, because breakfast can be predictable. (You can get scrambled eggs and sasuage anywhere back home!)

We are two adults and want something that can be romantic but still has Disney magic. Something unique!

In your opinion, what disney restaurant gives the most value for the quality/amount of food?

I should probably add in my opinion of The Crystal Palace and Mama Melrose's. I went to both last fall, probably October or November.

Crystal Palace was good food. I loved it. The pictures were really cute. There are a lot of little kids running around and the seating was not very intimate.

Mama Melrose's I went to twice. I had chicken parmigiana. It was OK. About the same taste/quality of Olive Garden. I remember it needing more sauce. I found it weird that they did not give any bread with the pasta.

The next time I went I got the breads with spreads which satisfied my need for bread. I got a chicken flatbread, but it was not worth it if I paid full price. Not very filling at all. I finished off the appetizer after my entree.

Well, my pick would probably be O'hana. I LOVE the food there and it was the one reservation I WANTED really bad for our upcoming trip.
They serve family style so it is a set menu price, but I believe they are only open for Breakfast and Dinner. Dinner is the best in my opinion, but it may work for your budget since it is a fixed price. It's delicious!!
Of course there are about 20 more restaurants I would like to recommend, but that's my #1.

Good luck deciding!! :)

Breakfast - Boma

Dinner - Grand Floridian Cafe

Breakfast - Kona go for the Tonga Toast.
Dinner at Rose and Crown is great to see Illuminations.
Dinner at Boma - love it !

Whispering Canyon for dinner - the skillet is a fabulous value and the restaurant itself is so much fun.

We loved LeCellier for lunch, but it's very pricey. We also enjoyed Tony's Town Square if you eat in the "atrium" room - we got to see the parade from our table and the food was excellent.
Loved the character breakfast at O'Hana - excellent food, great atmosphere. In fact, I would recommend any breakfast buffet for overall value - Crystal Palace is also a fave; Chef Mickey's very very noisy and chaotic, but the food is good.

For what you are describing I would recommend Boma, 'Ohana, or WCC.

LeCellier is fantastic. Been there three times (all for dinner). Staff are amazing. Even the kids love it. It's nice for them to be able to order a steak on the kids menu (do they still let you do that?). After enough mac-n-cheese to make anyone puke, they get excited about a little something grown up.

If you aren't traveling with kids, I would think it would be very romantic with the dim lighting.

And, if you are a beer drinker...they have some AMAZING Canadian beers to choose from. It will put a little tint in your cheeks :goodvibes

oohh fun great post OP...my fav. is the 50's prime time-good home cooking, fun atmosphere and reasonable prices! We eat there every trip...in fact we'll be eating there next Thursday-woohoo!!!!

San Angel Inn. wonderful ambiance and we love the food.

And there is another one I like, how can you pick just ONE?:confused3
And along with the 2 I picked above and this one there is Coral Reef, Teppen Edo so many places in EPCOT. The Kona and Capt' Jacks. So my favorite one for each day of the week.

What about going to the Hoopdie Doo Review for dinner? :confused3 It's an All You Can Eat dinner served by the bucket and all you can drink draft beer and sangria. The food was really good and they bring you as much as you can possibly eat- then they bring you more- DESSERT!!! Plus, you get really really good entertainment as well. The only thing would be that it's not the intimate, romantic dinner you might be looking for. But I believe they do have tables for 2 if you request it. But instead of being all googly-eyed at eachother, you can laugh until you have tears streaming down your faces. :rotfl2: And Fort Wilderness does have romantic things like quiet walking paths, boats you can rent, and carriage rides you could do before dinner if you're still looking for something extra romantic. :lovestruc Just another idea I thought I'd throw out there for you... Hope it helps! And have fun on your trip!

:cool1: :hippie: Yes how could I have forgoten the Hoop Dee Doo I cant wait till the last week in Sept. I couldn't go to WDW and do just 1.

I would recommend either 'Ohana (lots of fun, but can be loud) or Boma (especially if you like trying new foods.)

Both of these are fixed price at about $30 per person as I recall. I'm not sure either one offers lunch, however.

Breakfast- So far I love Tonga Toast so I say Kona
Lunch- Umm we never do TS for lunch..the only time we did was Biergarten
Dinner- Ohana's..Tutto & Le Cellier & Coral Reef are my other favs
