If you could only pick one restaurant...

Humor me please...I'm banking on all of your expertise since most of you vacation in Disney often.

If you could only pick one restaurant in DTD to eat, which would it be and why?

Same goes for the parks, only one sit down between all four parks, which would you never want to miss and why?

I appreciate any responses, as I don't know one restaurant from another....

About us, two adults (28/38), no kids, no allergies or intolerances, I don't eat seafood-but he does, no dining plan.
I hope this isn't asking too much..

DTD - Raglan Road - I love the music and the beer. But mostly because the Bread Pudding is amazing!

MK - This is tough, personally I'd head over to The Wave at the Contemporary. They've got some great food there.

EPCOT - Le Cellier for the steak, cheese soup and pretzel bread sticks. But there are so many good places to eat at EPCOT, it's hard to go wrong there.

DHS - It used to be 50s Primetime Cafe all the time. But I ate at the Brown Derby and fell in love with their Char grilled filet of beef.

AK - Tusker House. The food is a little unusual but not too adventurous.

DTD would be Portabello Yacht Club. Only one INSIDE the parks would be Bistro de Paris in Epcot.

Its not in the parks nor is it in DTD, but our family's favorite/not to be missed is dinner at Ohana at the Polynesian! (A very short monorail ride from the MK or Epcot).

If you can, book your ADR 1 hour before Wishes starts, and when you check in at the podium, ask to be seated where you can view Wishes. They dim the lights and pipe in the music/narration when Wishes starts...Just MAGICAL! You can also see the Electric Water Pageant from there.

Plus, they have the most awesome food -- unlimited potstickers, honey chicken wings, steak, porkloin, chicken, and grilled shrimp. Their salad is fantastic, the noodles are tdf, and the dessert, bread pudding with that banana syrup and vanilla ice cream is heavenly. We ate there twice two weeks ago. I'm sure you will not regret Ohana

Our other favorites:
DTD: Raglan Road - Scallop forest, yum!
MK: Monorail it to Ohana or if you really want to eat in MK, Crystal Palace is a good buffet, pricey due to character interaction (Pooh and friends)
Epcot: Le Cellier - Mushroom filet
Le Chefs De France - Braised short ribs
AK: take the bus to Boma at the AKL - best buffet IMHO
DHS: Yikes, we usually eat CS here...hmmm...we kinda like Sci Fi Diner for the ambiance (riding in "cars" while you eat)

But if we could only choose one restaurant to eat at at WDW, it'll unanimously be Ohana!

We haven't eaten at DTD.
MK Breakfast at Crystal Palace. The food was yummy, loved the atmosphere, and the princeses were beautiful. It was a great experience.

AK-Tuskar House breakfast. Like previous poster said adventurous but not too much. Great character interaction, and the setting is done really nice.

HS-Sci-Fi. Burgers, onion rings, and milk shakes stick to the basics and you can't go wrong. You're sitting in a car watching trailers of old movies and ads for the concession stand under the stars, how much neater can you get for a restaraunt?

Epcot-Le Cellier'. The food really is as good as everyone says. The steak did almost literally melt in my mouth. I tried it for the first time on our last trip, it will one we go to every trip from now on.

Resort dinning- Narcoossee's. Everything about this place was wonderful. The food, service, atmosphere, view of the fireworks, we couldn't if we wanted to find one negative about this place.

Yes, as long as you return to the same park you came from that day, you do not need hoppers to get in. Hoppers are for going to a different park. You can go in and out the same park per day if you have the base tickets.

Oh nooooo, I just went to make a reservation and it says we can only get one at 9:05. That's the only time it's open for two people. I thought we weren't going during a popular time!

Personally...

DTD- Raglan Road; the bar is amazing (both to look at and in selection), and the food is excellent. Plus sometimes they have an Irish dancer or two.

MK- I don't really love any of the sit downs in MK but if I had to pick one it would be Crystal Palace for breakfast- gotta love Pooh's french toast! Usually however, when in eating in MK we just head for the dole whip stand and go for dinner at a restaurant in a nearby hotel: Chef Mickey's, Citricos, and 1900 Park Fair, are some of the favorites.

EPCOT- Teppan Edo is wonderful; they put on a great show and the food is alway very good.

DHS- Love 50's Prime Time Cafe. It is a must for us.

AK- My favorite restaurant on property is The Tusker House for lunch. HOWEVER- the reason we like it why a lot of people don't- it has a very diverse menu featuring some more exotic foods. While you can still have your mac n' cheese, you can also get couscous and orzo pasta dishes. Personally I (and my family) love this menu and we hit this spot every time we go to WDW, but not everybody does.

One HIDDEN gem- not to be missed is beaches and cream ice cream parlor at the Yacht and Beach club. You can walk there from EPCOT- or take the boat from DHS- and get the "kitchen sink" ice cream sundae. We can't finish it with five; but attempting to is the fun part. If the kitchen sink is not your thing they also have amazingly good smaller sundaes, milkshakes, and even some good food.


I hope this helps you to narrow down your restaurant choices. Have fun on your trip!

Also, you can check in early, we have done it many times where we came 30 to 45 mins early just to see if they had any availability (we were in the same boat as you, only had a later time availble for the ADR, so we took it), and when they did have a table available (they always did, btw, in our experience), they sat us immediately. There is also a little lounge right beside the podium where you can get tropical cocktail drinks, try the bahama mama or lapu-lapu!

Le Cellier is a pretty tough reservation to get. All of the good times and often all of the times are usually taken at 180 days out.

so sorry, one more question, if I can't get reservations for a restaurant through the reservation section right now, does that mean that when we get there there is no chance in he!! of getting a table?

DTD: if you are looking for a "quick service" place, definitely Wolfgang Puck..the walk up one, over by the Christmas store...fabulous food that is considered counter service on the DP

EpCot: France is good, so is Teppan Edo in Japan

Resorts: O'hanas and 1900 Parke Faire..I know you said no kids, but you obviously are Disney people, and we had so much fun just watching Cindy's stepmother and sisters there.

Well you definitely should try to get a reservation in advance if you can. If not, you can make reservations the day of.

My personal picks:

Downtown Disney: Rainforest Cafe or Raglan Road

Magic Kingdom: Liberty Tree Tavern OR take the monorail over to the Polynesian (3rd stop) and eat at Kona or Ohana

Epcot: Le Cellier!

Hollywood Studios: 50's Prime Time Cafe! (this place is so much fun!) OR Hollywood Brown Derby (cobb salad and grapefruit cake! )

Animal Kingdom: Tusker House
