If you could only go to 3 parks which would you choose?

This is our first trip and I'd love to do all the theme parks (except the water parks). But the reality is I have 3 kids who are 8, 6 year old special needs & 4 year old. We have 4 1/2 days. We will spend an entire day at MK. The rest of my itinerary has us at Epcot and Animal Kingdom for pretty much entire days. This leaves us with 1 1/2 days. The last 1/2 day we can't do much as we have noon ADRs and then have to be ready to go to the airport around 4:30. I want to leave some time for hanging out at the resort & enjoying the pools. Which parks would smaller kids enjoy most? Animal Kingdom, MGM or Epcot? We have a great zoo in our area, is AK that much different? Would the kids enjoy MGM more than Epcot?

We always said that MGM was better than AK, with MK and Epcot tied for first. We would skip AK. We went for EE, and it's just as good as MGM now. There's probably the most to do at Epcot and AK for little kids.

With the age of children you have I would go to MGM. We enjoy Epcot as well but MGM is a smaller park with Muppets, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Playhouse Disney shows.

Yes, I think AK is different than a zoo. Many people will say it is just a glorified zoo but it is more than that. However, it is our least favorite park.....but we haven't tried EE yet (but we have older kids).

Don't forget DTD. Toy stores, Lego store and Goofy's Candy Shop is a must. You create your own candy and drink mugs, it's a blast.

Have a great time!! :goofy:

To answer your question: Which would the kids enjoy more, Epcot or MGM?
I'd definitely have to go with MGM.

Me personally, I'd pick:

Epcot
MGM
Animal Kingdom

And in that order.
If you were to include Universal Parks it would be:

Islands of Adventure
Epcot
MGM

If I were going to skip a park, I would skip Animal Kingdom. With small kids, it's probably a completely different situation. In that case I would skip MGM. That would leave Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Animal Kingdom.

Personally, I would skip MGM. We always manage to have fun, but it is losing it's appeal. I think the kids would enjoy Animal Kingdom much more.

I would take AK over MGM personally.

MK is our favorite then Epcot then AK and last MGM

My 5 and 7 year olds love AK, so we could never skip it. I love MGM, so we could never skip that. I don't know what time of year you are going and the needs of your middle child, but AK has Kali River Rapids that my kids love and it would be a bit of a substitute for not going to a water park. It also has the not to be missed Lion King show and safari. It can also be kind of relaxing to walk around the trails and do the kids activities and see the animals. At MGM, I would not miss the Beauty and the Beast Show, my son loves Indiana Jones, and my daughter and I love Star Tours (I would skip Lights, Motor, Action). If you get a hopper pass, you do something like this:

Day 1 - MK
Day 2 - 1/2 day at Epcot, 1/2 at pools
Day 3 - AK, later afternoon swim at hotel and/or Downtown disney in the evening
Day 4 - 1/2 Day at MGM then boat over for 1/2 day at Epcot (stay for Illuminations)
Day 5 - Swim/relax in the morning at hotel, ADR, then home

Without a hopper pass, I would try something like this:
Day 1- MK
Day 2- 1/2 day MGM, 1/2 day swim at hotel
Day 3- AK, Downtown Disney or swim at hotel in the evening
Day 4- Long Day at Epcot (stay for Illluminations)
Day 5 - Swim or relax on grounds at the hotel in the AM before checkout

Good Luck in your Plans, I know it's tough!

I would skip AK....There are way more things at MGM for young one's.

Actually, I may change that I would maybe even skip Epcot.

Fav parks in order (3 of us myself, dw and ds (10))

MGM
MK
Epcot
AK

Last year we went w/ dds 1,3, and 6. We had four full days (two were travel) and were all set with our park hoppers. We went to MK everyday and never made it to another park! That is what they wanted to do and we had so much fun. Next time we'll fit those other parks in. I think no matter which park you are in you will have a great trip. Have fun! :)

MGM is my absolute favorite, but then I am a big time Musical and Movie Fan.

The order of my favs would be - MGM, MK, Epcot (maybe just the Future World Part if time is limitied) and AK last.

May very very favorite is not even in a park but is the O'Hana Breakfast at the POLY. Usually do that on my way to MK. Try to do it every trip.

2 years ago I could answer thjis easy - Animal Kingdom would be skippable. However, with the addition Everest, and the fact that I've taken time to see more of it, not so easy.

I love the atmosphere of MGM, but to be honest, they're running REALLY low on attractions. They've got ToT and RNR Coaster. They've got some great themed restaurants, but there's so much open space in the back where there's nothing there. One thing I'll give AK is, there's stuff all over the place to see.

If I had kids your kid's ages I would probably skip Epcot.

I think Epcot is great but it is a LONG day and not as much for little kids. On the flip side, it is very educational.

I would skip Epcot.

If you do Epcot hit future world, it's got lots of stuff for kids.
World Showcase is a major bore for kids, not to mention very physically exhausting. Yes, I know about the kidcot fun stops, but honestly your kids will only be interested in maybe one or two of the lamo crafts.

People will think I'm crazy, but Epcot is my least fav park.
