We are going on the Disney Wonder May 8th-12th. we will be at WDW from late afternoon may 12th until morning May 15th. Since we really will only have 2 1/2 days to enjoy WDW....we decided to just do ONE sit down dinner on Friday night. We go to WDW atleast once a year, and usually plan everything around our meals. But we figure that after eating all that wonderful food on the cruise, we will just wing most meals for those few short days at WDW. So,.....opinions please:
Would you do a tried and true restaurant that we have done before? would you try something different? Should I keep it a character meal?
So....if this was you....what is your ONE can't miss sit down dinner?

(FYI: cast of characters: me, DH, DS7, DD5, my parents, my in-laws)

You have a good mix of ages in your group, so my vote would be for 'Ohana. Our family loves this restaurant. I think it is fun for adults and kids. The atmosphere is upbeat and friendly, and if you time your dinner right, you can see the lovely fireworks display right from the restaurant. Your kids are perfect ages to enjoy the hula hoop and coconut rolling contests. This restaurant will also provide a kids meal as an alternative, if yours won't eat the all-you-can-eat skewered meats.

Ohana's!!!
(my kids weren't thrilled with Boma--even though Mom and Dad were)

Another vote for 'Ohana!

We went with almost identitcal family members in 2003- my parents, my MIL, my DH and two kids and EVERYONE loved it. The kids were 'eh about the food, but were able to order a hotdog no problem. I would practically pay the $25 for just the appetizers and the view alone!

Someone mentioned seeing the fireworks, is it a great view..cuz we are going to be there over Mother's Day and me and my dad want to give mom a wonderful dinner..including fireworks..would Ohana's be the right choice??

Timing is everything. One year it worked out great. We were enjoying dinner right as the fireworks started. We were seated by the window and it couldn't have been more perfect. But last year, it was very crowded and although we had PS's, we had to wait and ended up watching from with windows in the Great Ceremonial House, which wasn't ideal.
I recommend eating dinner first then watching from the beach. Although many people have differing opinions on this. Some feel watching from the beach at the Poly is strictly for Poly guests. We were staying at GF and watched from the beach at Poly without incident. I personally don't think it's a big deal. The only thing about watching from the beach is that you can't hear the music. But other than that, spectacular!

I would definately pick Ohana's. Whether you are with a group of adults or kids or both, it's a blast and the food is amazing.

I enjoy O'Hana's, Cindy's, Crystal Palace, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Le Cellier, 50's Primetime & the Rose & Crown.

I'm going to vote for LTT (Liberty Tree Tavern). My reasons? American style food, characters, all you care to eat & they bring it to you, inside the Magic Kingdom.

That said, we've never ate at O'Hana's, so I can't give an opinion on that.

I'll check out O'Hana's, but we went to Crystal Palace last year and it was great, one on one time with the characters and very good food

Our vote goes to Crystal Palace because it's in our favorite park, we can all find things we enjoy off the buffet, we are huge Pooh and Friends fans, and I love the Victorian style of the building.

'Ohana!!!

After all, 'Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind.

What could be better for a family meal for all ages?

I'll chime in with Ohana! Especially if you haven't been there before...you should definitely give it a try! Great food and fun atmosphere!

It is ALWAYS a must do for us! Yummy!
