If you could only choose one - favorite Christmas cookie, what would it be?

I know it's tough - choosing only one - even for me, but I think it would be coconut macaroons - only if made using the Duncan Hines Sugar Cookie mix in a box.. Soooooo good!! :thumbsup2

If I couldn't find the DH mix (and there have been years when I couldn't), I would go with the "snowballs" (almond nuts inside - which I have to grind to a powder for medical reasons - almond flavoring; a Bisquick dough; and rolled in powdered sugar after they're done baking).. Yum!!

What would you choose?
:santa:

I guess I would go with classic chocolate chip. However, I'm glad I don't have to choose! I just tried a new recipe for root beer float cookies, and I'm in LOVE with them!!! My kids are too!!!

Chocolat chip cookies the rest of the year but at Christmas, I need those sugar cookies with the colored sugar crystals on top fresh from the oven.

Oh, I am drooling just thinking of them now! :rotfl:

I'm a chocolate chip girl too but love sugar cookies at Christmas. Yummy

On the topic of Christmas cookies, C. Ann..was it you who was kind enough to give me the spritz cookie recipe last year? The ones with jello? I made them last year for the first time ever and they were delicious!! saturday is cookie day for us and I will be making my lime jello spritz cookies due to popular demand!

It doesn't take much to please me, my favorite cookie in the world is Peanut Blossom Cookies. LOVE them and have bought 4 kinds of kisses to use this year!!! :wizard:

If it has to be a cookie then Gingerbread for Christmas, and if it can be a bar cookie, hands down, Turtle cookie bar.

Yes - that was me.. I used to make them in all different flavors - using the various shaped discs that came with my electric Cookie Shooter - and not only were they a big hit, but once you get the "hang" of the electric shooter, they come out so perfectly shaped and pretty, you would swear they were from a fancy bakery..:goodvibes

The lime Christmas trees were always a "must" - as well as the "wild berry" flavors, which really have quite a "zing" to them..

Christmas bring Chocolate Cherry....DS's favorite. They are very good.

Would you mind sharing thee recipe? These sound very interesting!

my favorite cookie is my own, old fashioned teacakes. i use DH's grandmother's recipe, and everyone who tries them, loves them. i make quite a mess of my kitchen when i make them, but they're worth it.

but the recipe came from my Mom, now long gone..her version has currants in it, does yours?..and they ALWAYS have to have the glazed topping tinted pink, or it doesn't seem like Christmas! My husbands favorite are his great grandmothers sugar cookies, cookie cutter shapes, decorated or frosted, in fact we just made 2 batches of these the other nite..thanks for starting this thread, C.Ann, it brought back lotsf memories!
Happy Holidays!

I LOVE spritz cookies. But some people can't make "good" ones... I don't like them if they are dry....
