We had a game called "Which Witch?" where the gameboard was a 3-D haunted house. You were trying to reach the top of the staircase, but (I'm a little fuzzy on the details; it's been a while!) if a metal ball got dropped down the chimney, it would randomly come out one of the staircases -- and if you were on it, it would bowl you over.

Any chance anyone remembers this game?

Also, "Lost Gold," where you used a little metal detector to find where your opponent hid their three gold stashes...kinda like Battleship.

Ah, nostalgia. Off to eBay...

Other favorites were Mystery Date and Green Ghost, which we used to play in the closet for best effect!

I've never even heard of Candyland. Monopoly was the only board game I could tolerate. I was all into Barbie and paper dolls.

Anyone remember Enchanted Palace? It was so cheesy, but oh so fun!

Mystery Date and Hands Down! Loved them. Mouetrap took 20 minutes to set up and 5 seconds to play.

I teach pre-k and every Friday is game day. We teach the children how to play board games. Sorry, Candyland, Chute and Ladders, Sorry, Don't Wake Daddy, etc. They love it and so do we. What a great job! By the way, all 4 year olds can cheat at any game. Amazing!

This was my next favorite when I outgrew Candyland..

I agree with Candyland for sure, BUT...it has to be the Candyland that I grew up with, not the new versions that have those awful characters on them.

Definitely the original version!!!!!
