If you could go to Disney...

with anyone other than your immediate family, who would you go with and why?

I wish I could go with my mom...she took me to the Magic Kingdom for the very first time in 1974 after my dad passed away when I was 7. I found such magic in it and it was very healing for me to have so much fun. To this day, Disney is my magic, my fun and my escape. My mom and I talked about going together many times but ultimately, I think she was too afraid to go with her Pakinson's. We still have her but she is nearing the end and suffering. I want to take a trip someday to honor her!

Otherwise, I'd love to go with my very best friend. We are two peas in a pod and I would love to be riding Dumbo together laughing and having a few cocktails around the World Showcase. We are busy moms whose schedules don't exactly match up but one day....

There's a few of my friends I'd really like to go with. And immediate family wouldn't include my one aunt and uncle and cousin, they'd be fun to go with too.

Sorry you can't talk your mom into going. Is there any way you can convince her to go? I'm sure she could go and still take it easy. I've heard of so many people going with many, many conditions and still having a great time.

We are actually going with my sisters, nephews and my dad and step-mom this December. It will be the first trip we have had with the nephews. They have been before but never with Aunt Chell. So I'm super excited about it since everyone knows I'm the Disney nut. Just the other night we were looking at Disney books and I realized there are tons of rides the boys haven't done yet. They just don't know how much fun WDW really is.

Otherwise I'd just love going with anyone who has never been before so I could show them around and see the joy in their eyes...

My girlfriends!!! We all love Disney and each go with our families each year, but we need to get together and do a "Girls Only" trip without the husbands and kiddies. We have talked about getting the WHOLE bunch (kids and all) together, but that would be a logistical nightmare and really stressful.

I can think of four right off the top of my head who are Disney freak commando tourers like I am that I would have a blast with!

I have a couple of girlfriends I'd like to go with but I know they'd drive me crazy. I'd want to get up early and be at line drop, but they'd want to sleep in and lounge all morning.

You've been solo, haven't you? What's it like? Is it awkward at first eating in restaurants and riding the rides? I think I'd love to go alone and be alone with my thoughts and be able to do what I want, when I want, but at the same time I think it might get a little old after a day or two.

I'd love to win the lottery and take my niece and her family, my nephew and his wife, my sister, and my mom and her cousin. My mom would be the hardest one to convince.

Pretty much everyone I know who hasn't gone, I'm always gushing about it, and I may have converted one or two of them over to my side of thinking!

Also my cousin. She's been with her BF a number of times, and I've been twice with the hubby, but I'd love for us to go together as a group.

And finally, myself. I've only ever been on one solo vacation (to Bermuda) and had a blast, I think I'd really enjoy Disney by myself at least once. I love to sit back and people watch

Since my DH doesn't care for Disney, I am taking my mom with me and my kids. She loves Disney. Can't wait for next week!

I've gone solo...and what you say just about sums up my thoughts on the experience!

Technically, that trip was pseudo-solo because my friend was doing the CP and I was able to meet up with her on portions of most days of my trip. I decided that it's much more fun to SHARE Disney with someone who also loves it than to do WDW alone.

Although...WDW alone would be preferable than WDW with a hater or no WDW at all.


As for going to WDW with someone other than immediate family...I'd go with any of my Disney-loving friends! I've done it before it we all had a blast!

I would go with my aunt. Her and I have always had a special relationship. She is elderly now (except don't tell her that) so she couldn't ride any of the rides or anything but just spending time together would be the best thing in the world.

I don't know who I would go with. None of my friends like Disney and not a lot of my extended family either. The one's that do like it can go a lot as they have to money to do it. I like going with my one dd but she now has 2 little one's and no money so that is out.

We can't allow that. You guys would get kicked out of the parks and be banned for life. There's no telling what kind of trouble you'd get into.
