If you could go anytime when?

September! Decent chance of getting free dining plus you can do MNSSHP. We went last year and the crowds were non-existent. The longest wait time we saw was 20 minutes for Soarin and most of the time the posted wait times were longer than we actually waited. We rode Toy Story one night (not even during EMH) 5 or 6 times in a row. The line was basically as fast as you can walk back through, you're in the little corrals to be loaded on the next or 2nd round of cars. It's hot but not miserable like summer would be plus that makes it great for afternoons at the pool or if you want to do a water park.

if I had teh option i would go late sept early october
but can't really with schools etc.

we are taking our kids out for 5 days in May to go next year

annoyingly its still going to be busy the first week as its memorial day weekend the saturday we arrive.

I'm not too botheres as its after all their exams and the last half term is bascially all school trips and fun anyway (all are in junior school at the moment).

next year the eldest will be in secondary school so no taking out for GULP - 7 years!!!)

For the last decade or so, I've always gone in early May due to less (but not too much) heat, least chance of rain, less crowds and the Flower & Garden Festival is still in full swing. I don't have to worry about taking my son out of school just yet as he's too young to be bothered about exams.

Times I would like to go include during the Food & Wine Festival and at some time to take in the Halloween and Christmas decorations at the parks.

We want to enjoy the Florida sun and heat.... Especially the resort pool, a big part of our stay....

So late May and late September gives us value season prices ( we could care less about free dining ) low crowds and perfect weather...

Common dates are oct, nov, early December. All of these are very good dates for us. Love hearing everyone's weather and crowd stories. Please keep them coming. Im a terrible decision maker and Unfortunately when we go is up to me and I get no help from my wife or mother inlaw so this is very much appreciated.

Even though we go every year during Mem Day weekend and the week after, my favorite time of year to be there is November, the week before Thanksgiving. It has been four years since I was there in November, but it seemed to be less crowded and the weather was really awesome.

Yeah! We are going back in September, which used to be our favorite month to go. When our boys got into middle and high school, we started going in May and June instead. Can't wait to get back to going at our favorite time of year! :goodvibes

Free dining would be a nice bonus. Where do they post past free dining offers to look at the trend.

Thank you. Keep suggestions/ experiences coming. My Initial thoughts were late oct early November. Or first week in dec.

Both of those would be my picks!

Last year we went 10/31-11/5. The weather was great - crowds weren't awful, despite the prior few weeks where people were saying that it was more crowded than usual. Food & Wine was nice to experience (avoid Epcot on weekends). We arrived on Halloween and just did the resort activities that were going on - kids had a blast (without spending $$$$ on MNSSHP). Our last day there, we saw the first part of the Christmas decorations going up, too!

Next year, we may go that same time or maybe the first week of December.

I generally avoid the winter months since I went in February 2013 during the week it happened to be 39 degrees out. 39 degrees is warm compared to home, but not when you only packed shorts and t-shirts. I was FREEEEEZING the entire time!! My FL-resident friends tell me September is the best month. I've had nothing but good experiences--heat and crowds-wise--in my Labor Day weekend trips.

Last 2 years we've done mid-May. We've had great success with that, and are planning it again next year for the same time.

Our DD did get a week of Unexcused/Unlawful days out on her attendence record, but well worth it. She missed perfect attendance because of it, and I can tell you, she did not mind one bit.

I agree with those who suggested mid-November. We went last year during the week before Thanksgiving and it was wonderful. Low crowds (we walked on most rides) and great weather. We are going back the week before Christmas this year and am really hoping for a similar experience.

YES - I like this for the Christmas season, lower crowds, and good weather. I have been in JAN, FEB, MAY, JUNE, SEP, OCT, NOV, DEC over the past 7 years. Its hard to beat the Christmas holidays at WDW, especially after Thanksgiving when the Story Tellers are out in EPCOT. You just feel that Christmas is over once you leave - its that special

I was going to say early November because you wanted to avoid the heat. If I myself could go any time it would be September.

Out curiosity why September? I'll have to look at just how got it is. Maybe late sept would work

Our next trip is from 11/15 to 11/21 with FD!!!! I hope we have great weather and crowd levels.
