If you could go alone to WDW what would you do

I would stay at the Wilderness Lodge, take I pile of books that I want to read and spend early morning before everyone gets up reading in the lobby or in one of the nooks spread throughout the hote...I would have breakfast every morning at the Concourse Steakhouse and feast on Sticky Mickies...I would spend each day in a different park- all day...I HATE park-hopping...I would really take my time and capture all of the details with my camera and in my journal...I would watch Wishes every night. I would relax in the hot tub before going to bed each night....I would miss my crazy family though and have to call home about 10 times a day...

Fun thread!!

I'm the commando in our family, so just once I'd like to be one of the first people at MK or Epcot. Also, ride PoC and HM over and over. And yes, I admit it, I'd ride Small World! Rest of my family HATES that ride.

Then I'd actually get back to the hotel & take a nap/sit by the pool for a couple hours in the afternoon before going back to the parks.

Hmmm... much as I love my kids, I think I'm gonna have to plan a solo trip:blush:

This sounds like a great 3- or 4-day weekend to me!!!!

Hmmmm....

* I would explore every nook and cranny of World Showcase.
* I would spend an afternoon in the American Adventure.
* I would go to Basin, buy some bath bombs, and relax each evening in my whirpool bath at OKW.
* I would go to each resort and see if I'd actually like to stay there sometime. And check out their shops.
* I would enjoy AK and MK, but I would NOT even step foot in MGM. I like a couple of the rides there, but I'd gladly skip them.

So, when are we all going???? :teeth:

OOH, I forgot one. I'd go to Pleasure Island. Never been there, and I'd love to see it!

Where do I even begin??? There are so many things that I can't do when I'm there with my family or (making up a new DIS boards abreviation here: DP=Disney Partner) DP. First of all, I'd stay at the Poly, because I've always wanted to, but nobody's ever wanted to spend the money on it. Also, unlike most replies to this thread, I'd probably be MORE of a commando on a solo trip!!! I'm such a busy-body that I'd love to do WDW at MY pace!!! (about 300 miles per hour) :bounce: Don't get me wrong, I'd definitely spend time to take it all in, but I could choose when to speed along to the next attraction, or just sit and relax.

Some other things I'd do:

- Eat WHEREVER I want to. Disney has some of the most amazing restaurants, so I'd like to explore WDW with my mouth wide open! ::yes::

- I'd ride/see HM, PoC, CoP, ToT, SE, and TTA a hundred times!

- And I'd watch the Tiki Birds as many times as I wanted (which I never get to do).

- Oooh...and I'd get an all day spa package!!!!

Alright...I'm getting way too excited about this thread! I think it will be a long time before I go by myself, especially since part of the magic for me (as others have said) is sharing the experience with my family and friends.

If I were ever lucky enough to get to go to DW alone I would-

Go to a tea party at the Grand Floridian
Get to go to an attraction and hear the speil
Spend less than three hours at every meal
Get to converse with perfect strangers
Not have to be on edge worrying about what outrageous behavior my dh is going to come up with next
Only have to clean up after myself

Guess I have been married far too long and desperately need a vacation. Who knows I might miss him. Would like to try it and see. LOL

I go solo to Disney often to give me a break from the Speed is Life pace at work.

Here are plans that I like to do:

1. Go without a budget. Doesn't mean break the bank, just don't fret about something I want to buy.

2. Stay at AKL. I'll never be able to stand the long flights to get to Africa, so I love staying here.

3. Never have to worry that someone is going to say "You want to see Off Kilter again???". I love to see every show on my EPCOT days.

4. Ride Tower of Terror all day long without anyone wanting to do something else.

5. Waiting an hour for my favorite viewing location for Wishes and just watching the crowds go by. I'd tell you my favorite viewing spot, except I don't want to have to wait 2 hours to make sure I still get it :D

6. Sitting outside the American Garden Theatre and listening to 3 showings of Candlelight Processional and just taking in the music, and then ending the evening with a viewing of Illuminations.

7. Being able to workout every morning at a decent hour instead of going in early to make sure you get to the parks early.

8. Meeting and chatting with people in lines and while waiting for shows/attractions. When you travel with others, you usually talk to who you are with, not with the people waiting next to you.

9. Not having someone say - You have to go to the bathroom again? You just went at the last restroom. Hey, you drink as much water as I do and you'd be stopping at each one too!

10. Being able to stop and smell the roses, or view the fountain, or listen to the music whenever I want.

I would explore World Showcase. Skipped it the first time. Second time with DH we walked around but didnt really know of all the things there really are to do there.

I would do the smaller attractions in Future World like The Land, figment, Body wars, , maybe ellens energy adventure.(if these are all still there)

I would see the fireworks shows. Havent seen any yet.

Visit attractions we missed the first and second time, like Country Bear Jamboree, Tiki Room, Time Keeper, Carousel of Progress, Fantasmic, Studio Backlot Tour.

I could get a lot done. Not sure if I would want to go alone though.

Is it really sad to say I don't want to go by myself?? My happiness is watching my DS enjoy it!

I'd love to go for a weekend alone! I'd stay in a king bed room, and have the bathroom all to myself! I think I'd stay at CSR.

At AK, I'd pick up some lunch then walk to the area just before the Kali River exit bridge. There's a bench here that faces the monkey house. I could watch those guys all day!

At Epcot, in the eveing, I'd pick up a coffee and a pasterie and just sit watching the fountain in Future World. And I'd finally go see the movie in France.

At MK, I'd spend half the day riding Peter Pan and Haunted Mansion.

Have done this in the past and doing it next month
Schedule is thrown out the door (except for a couple of PS booked)
Go to the park when you want. Leave when you want. Choose your own rides. Take advantage of single rider lines.
Eat where and when you want.

I would definately relax by the pool. Slowly explore World Showcase. Sit on a lot of the benches around World Showcase and just relax and people watch. Relax on my balcony and read a book. Okay, so I would relax a lot!

Sounds like you plan my itinerary! I go solo every year (I go twice a year-once with DH, once alone). I do alot of sitting and people watching, especially in WS. Also, I love to shop in every corner of every store in WS, at my pace. And in the MK, I know where every rocking chair is so I can sit and "soak it all in". But mostly it's WS, that's probably one reason why I love BCV so much-just a short stroll over every day.

Day 1 - See just how many rides I really can do at the Magic Kingdom.
Day 2 - Slowly snack my way through the World Showcase.
Day 3 - Whatever I feel like doing...

I would get up early and watch the sun rise over Bay Lake from the Wilderness Lodge. Then I would make my way over to the Polynesian and lay in a hammock on the beach to my little heart's content. When I was good and relaxed I would go over to the Magic Kingdom and just wander around enjoying the sights and smells and laughter all around me until Wishes began. I'd soak that in and then hang around until Mickey's Kiss Goodnight...ahh, now that would be one lovely day.

Marathon Rides!!! Ride as much as I can as fast as I can. With one day in there for relaxation at the pool and shopping in DTD.

I am going at it alone while my DH is attending a conference...

I am going to
1) Take the Keys to the Kingdom Tour
2) Eat Dole Whips, and other treats with no one else ever knowing (or having to share)
3) Take the Segway tour!!! I have always wanted to do that!!!
4) Go watch the movie in France at World Showcase and eat pastries
5) Someone mentioned sitting and watching the fountains at Epcot... I may do that too!

Thanks for the ideas,
Tithonia

I will be there alone for 3 days before my DH arrives. I plan on getting up each morning and strolling around the Boardwalk before it wakes up. Hit a couple of reps in Muscles and Bustles. Returning to my room for a nice breakfast.

Running around doing wedding stuff! In the evenings I will return and walk around Epcot and MGM. I will see Beauty and the Beast at least 3 times! (I have boys and DH and it is not on their must do list)

I went in May solo, but I met many great Dissers, shared an Illuminations cruise with PirateParrot and guests, visited the Spa at SSR for a 1 hr. massage and pedicure, sat on the balcony and ate lunch, had a drink by the pool and didnt worry about being too impaired for a search or rescue. (not drunk, just relaxed LOL) Did laundry at midnight by the quiet pool and soaked in the hot tub. Took time to look at the beautiful landscaping at the resort. Ate my first Mickey Bar at Epcot! Made friends with the front desk CM's because I wasnt rushing to be anywhere.

I did miss the boys, but we were scheduled to return a week later as a family, so that helped and I did save some things to do so i could do it with them.

Im sure I will miss them this time too, but that is why I scheduled Christmas week to return with them to alleviate my guilt! LOL

Going for my second "solo" trip - But I meet a Disney Friend down there for a gals trip.
This one will be pretty busy with the things for the Event - but after HHB events are over, I plan to do some Spa Sitting & general lounging.

My first gals trip was as commando as trips with my son - I think for a really relaxing trip, I'd have to go with DH, who likes to take it slow & easy - a concept I haven't mastered yet. :p

Wasn't really alone but might as well have been - DS and his Df went to DQ for the day and night - I parked the car at DD and took the bus to WL, then the boat to MK, monorail to EPCOT, walked around the Boardwalk, then walked to MGM - boat back to Yacht and Beach and bus back to DD/PI- this was Christmas week so I was able to check out all the holiday fun and ride many forms if not all of transportation stopping along the way to enjoy them.

I am hoping to go it alone Oct '05. I want to stay either at BWV or BCV. I like being within walking distance of my 2 favorite parks.
I will take it slow and not rush to get in line for the next ride. Probably will do a lot of people watching. Stopping to eat when I'm hungry and not just cuz it's normal meal time. Will definitely treat myself to dinner at the California Grill. ::yes:: Maybe even get to sleep in a few times.:cloud9:

Oh wow, I was just thinking about this the other day! I would go to MK and explore every little nook and cranny!!! Once that's done, I'd do the same at EPCOT. And after that I would just sit and relax at either MK or EPCOT and people watch while enjoying some snacks and listening to the background music. HEAVEN!! :teeth:
