Her name is Viola. She has an older brother Nathaniel. She is learning magic and is a wizard's apprentice when her mentor's rival arrives and is received by the palace. He then turns the world into everlasting night and turns Viola's mentor and parents to stone. Viola and Nathaniel must travel across the kingdom to defeat the evil wizard. Along the way they meet Fallon, a girl who aspires to be a knight, and her trusty steed Thunder. Viola is good at magic but cannot balance the light and dark magic inside of her. Over the course of the journey she learns to balance her light and dark and with the help of Nathaniel and Fallon she defeats the dark wizard and breaks the spell on the kingdom, and Fallon becomes a knight as a reward for her aid. The end.
