If you could only eat at one restaurant while at WDW....where would you eat and why? I want to know which places I might be missing out on. What do you order when you go there? Thanks!!

Le Cellier!!!

I have the...

Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup - smoked bacon and Moosehead beer for starters with breadsticks

Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - wild mushroom risotto, white truffle and herb beurre blanc, topped with fried parsnips

Happiest Celebration on Earth Chocolate Whiskey Cake - chocolate cake brushed with whiskey, layered with chocolate mousse, finished with orange marmalade and topped with a "Happiest Celebration" white chocolate wafer or the raspberry sorbet.

Best meal my family ever ate...

Last trip I ate at Le Celliar and Ohana's for the first time. I really like them both. I think I might go with Ohana's.

Tepanyaki in Japan.

I order either order steak or steak and chicken, but always ask for extra Zucchini and a peach drink. I do not remember the name of it.

I think this is not just my immediate family's favorite, but also my extended family.

JIKO

If I could choose just one restaurant, I would choose Jiko for dinner. Its atmosphere is elegant (beautiful decor), yet very relaxed and relaxing.

The food is to die for, and the wines are equally enjoyable. Jiko has the largest selection of South African wines outside of South Africa.

Although the food is served with a little bit of an exotic flair, there is nothing too exotic, and plenty of choices that would work for meat & potatoes peopl (like the filet mignon w/ mac n cheese - this is not your kraft mac n cheese).

Dinner at Jiko is an experience, not just a meal.

Also, if you arrive early enough, Jiko is located at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, so you can peruse the lobby (which is magnificent), go out back to look at the animals in the savannah, and then take five in the very nice bar (Victoria Falls) before dinner. It makes for a lovely evening, and other than paying for libations in the bar (which you could skip), the other activites are free.

HTH!

Wolfgang Puck's Cafe in DTD

There were so many items on the menu that I wished I had the time to try.

The pumpkin ravioli was heavenly!

Artist Point

Portobello Mushroom Soup
Buffalo Sirloin (medium rare please!) with a glass of cabernet
Coffee served Two Ways

Yummy!

Akershus!!!!!!!! Minus those pesky princesses of course.

Maggs

California Grill! Between the delicious food and the wonderful view, it is an incredible experience!

For DH it would have to be the Crystal Palace because he thinks the food is out of this world (it is very good I agree) but for me it would have to be breakfast at any of the counter service places in the hotels, dont ask me why but I am addicted to the scambled eggs and I normally cannot stomach more than one bite of eggs, go figure lol!

For quieter dining for the teenage - adult set:

Le Cellier

I generally go with the Chef's set meal which changes but always includes a dessert and usually an appetizer as well.

For family fun in Epcot:

Germany

It is a buffet but you sit at tables with other diners so that every seat is taken. There is also a polka band and every day is Oktoberfest. We've met some cool people when eating there and my family has really enjoyed it. I wouldn't like it if it was just me and my husband but when our family is filling out most of the table and we are just inviting in a few new friends to meet, it is fun.

For family fun in MGM:

50's Primetime Cafe

Having "Uncle Ted" chastise us for only visiting when we're hungry and putting my husband in the corner for having his elbows on the table was too much fun. When my MIL got up to leave so that she could go for a smoke "Uncle Ted" yelled out back to the kitchen "Mo-ooo-mmm, she didn't clean her plate because she's going outside to smoke again!" and my MIL almost fell over laughing so hard. Wish I could get away with that.

It has to be Boma! I love everything about AKL and Boma is the icing on the cakes. :thumbsup2
