Well, it looks like it might really happen. DH and I met with the builder and his partner this evening to discuss expanding the garage and finishing out some (most) of the attic. When this happens - not so much an "if" anymore - I'll get my own dedicated scrap/craft room. I'm so excited about this. But now to decide what to put into it and how to set it up.

I don't even know where to begin thinking about this. What color should I paint the walls? What kind of furniture/storage/counters should I choose? Should I go with a hard surface for the floor or carpet?

The one thing I am sure of, lighting. There will be lots of it! Besides any light fixtures, I believe there will be two windows - one facing south the other facing west.

I think the dimensions are going to be 13' x 15', but the side walls will be 5' high leading up to a 9' ceiling.

So... If you had a blank canvas and could design your own dream scrap room how would you set it up?

First of all --- CONGRATULATIONS!

You're starting great with the lighting. I have a narrow 14 x 10 room and I've had my DH take the window treatments out of the room so I have more natural light.

My dream would be to have a big counter in the middle of the room so I can stand & crop. To give you some ideas go to www.organizedscrapbooks.com they have some cool rooms or to 2peas gallery

Have a great time designing it! Make sure you post some photos of the finished product.

I have been dreaming for months. Thats what gets me to sleep every night.I have got the spare room with a couch and large matching char and JUNK. I need a clean sweep. Everything during the christmas season got shoved into that room.
I have started buying -Disney things for the theme.
-storage units for all my scrapbooking stuff.
-every table/desk always get used other places.

So I just need a huge cheap desk and a CLEAN SWEEP.

We have been doing a little at a time, but here are my latest pics

I really wanted my room to be fun and not at all serious. That is why I picked a really bright blue. I have white mini blinds on the window and a sheer I picked up at Target that has lime green and blue flowers.

Over my corkboard I am going to put another shelf up and put these lights underneath it: http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=48507-1390-G9163-WH-I&lpage=none

Here is a link to where I bought my photoboxes: http://www.pfile.com/trk/acid-free/photo-storage-box.html

I am only half way done with the room. I still have to hang up some of my Tony Stewart posters on the opposite wall and I want to get those white wood letters and spell out some of these words: Create, Inspire, Dream, Memories.

The cabinets are acutally stock bathroom Vanities and the counter top was stock. For all three it was less than $400. The chair I have is from our old house and it is counter top height.

Good luck!!! And have fun!
