What would it be? Even if you don't OWN it, what lens would be the best for Disney IYO?

I am strictly saying this because I love how fun this lens is, the AF DX Fisheye-NIKKOR 10.5mm f/2.8G ED. It certainly isn't the best for getting ALL the shots you want but it does force you to get creative with it.

I agree with Prince of Thieves on the fun factor of a 10.5, but if was taking one lens and wanted to get the best overall coverage, it would be 18-200. I know it has limitations but for spread of focal length and acceptable image quality, that is the one I would take.

I couldn't do it without my Nikkor 50mm AF-S. I take a lot of low light/night shots.... :upsidedow The 18-200 would be great during the day, but when night fell I would be left whimpering in a corner without my 50mm.

I'd go with my 18-200 as well. And I'd have my Gorillapod stuffed in my pocket for nighttime shots.

Another vote for the 50mm f/1.8. Night or day you can't go wrong. I would just use my feet as a zoom and crop if I couldn't get close enough.

I like to go wide. When I bought it, I knew my Sigma 10-20 would be a favorite lens, but I didn't realize it would be on my camera about 80 percent of the time. So my answer would be that, among lenses I actually own. The only thing that would top it would be the Nikkor 14-24 f2.8 -- but I'd need a D700, at least, to make having it worthwhile.

I'll go with the Sigma 30mm 1.4, especially since that is what I'll be primarily using in Sept.

I'm with Experiment_626.. I love my Sigma 10-20 in the parks. I was surprised at how many of my favorite shots from our last trip came from it.

I think I'm going to have to rethink that the next trip.

I'd stick with my 24-70 f/2.8. It's my old faithful.

Thanks :) I only have 2 right now. The 18-105 that came with it (which is a decent lense) and my 50mm 1.4 which I absolutely ADORE except I find I usually prefer a wider angle. I don't mind moving my feet, but sometimes there's only so far you can back up!

I'm debating getting a new soon and I'm looking at the 28mm but this gives me a few things to consider.

Thanks!

I shoot Olympus and in about 7 weeks I will give my 11-22 a good workout!!! Last year I used my 50mm the majority of the time. Time to go W I D E !!!

If by chance my DW reads this, " A Sigma 30mm would be a GREAT Father's Day present".

Another vote for a 24-70 f/2.8. It has become my [extremely heavy] walk around lens since going full frame.

18-250 for me. It IS the lens I use for 90% or more of my shots at Disney...as well as on any vacation. And it simply does not disappoint - no matter what I have to use it for in a pinch, it can do it...and some things it can do as good as any other lens I've used. To have one lens that can shoot wide, landscape, interior, exterior, wildlife, birds, action, detail, closeup, portrait, and night shots, and which is so compact on the camera as well, makes it simply invaluable.

Of course, I just got back from Disney yesterday where I got to use the Sigma 30mm F1.4 for the first time, and the low light ability of this lens just shone - wonderful lens and lots of Disney fun! And I'd still love to get a wide zoom soon. In the end though, the 18-250 will continue to be the go-to lens when where can be only one.

I used my 18-55mm kit lens last year because I had just bought my camera. This year I'm really excited to use my 18-200mm. It's the best I've found for travel because it's really the only lens I need to carry with me for both wide angle and telephoto shots.
