If you could add a new park, what would it be?

You know, every single time I've ever thought of going back to Disneyland (was there once in '91!), I've always decided against it and instead favoring WDW based soley upon how much more there is to do. (Crowds at times in the past haven't swayed this decision!) So if they would build an Epcot type park, I would seriously have to re-think any upcoming vacations! Let us know the minute you hear any definite plans, ok?

I think expanding the cruise line got a lot less likely this past week. With Royal Caribbean announcing the construction of up to two 6900 passenger cruise ships, it is unlikley we'll see many middle-sized ships added to any Bahamian or Caribbean fleet any time soon. Both the added competition and the economies of scale from such a large ship will put a lot of downward pressure on cruise fares, which the small players, like Disney, couldn't afford.

I would like an American History Park. I still think they need to a new land in DAK (like North America or Australia) or 3-4 rides (lower key ones) in MGM. I can barely fit 4 parks in a 7 day vacation.

I'd like to see a villian "land" added. That would be way cool. I love the villians, but a whole park? Might be overkill. I love the America park idea, but would also like to see them just add to America in Epcot.

Mostly I'd like to see Disney spend their money on a "rude" detector...that would magically transport the rude guests back to their rooms for a time out. :rotfl2: My husband and I are STILL talking about some guests that were really rude last week.

I'd love to see a park dedicated to foods from around the world. Kinda like an entire park of the Food and Wine Festival year round. Samples of food and drink everywhere!

I'd invest in that one!! We were there last week as well. For the most part everybdy was ok - biggest problem was a VERY rude woman getting off of the plane on the way home. We were stuck in row 39 - so it took 20 minutes for us to start moving in the back. Dh got out first with the 3 kids behind him and me following in the rear to "herd" the kids (LOL) As we were passing the middle section of the plane there was a woman and her family that were waiting to get off - well she decided to shoot out into the aisle right in front of me - shoving me back as I was keeping close to my kids and she just STOOD THERE - while she talked to her daughter who was in her seat a few rows behind me. In the meantime DH doesn't know that I am not behind him anymore and my 2 year old starts crying because he can't see my DH and cannot see me because the lady was in between us. I said excuse me to the woman and she said "Just wait lady I am not moving until my daughter gets her bag" I asked to her move as my husband and 3 kids were ahead of me and the baby was crying and she shot me a nasty look and told me to "be quiet" @@ :furious: Needless to say she had no choice but to move after that one....

After reading the ideas for Disney's America, that sounds great and I would love to see it happen. Also, DisneySea looks amazing.

One other thing I'd like to see. Rather than just another park, I'd like a new land that has the "retired" rides, and some of the rides from DisneyLand, like the Roger Rabbit ride and the Matterhorn.

Seriously, a park for the older kids would be great. I also really wish Disney would come up with more stuff that is "boys only".... I'm sick of seeing them cater to little girls while the boys get nothing in comparison!

They actually just recently added a character breakfast geared more towards boys that is based around Buzz pixiedust:

I would love to see a Disneysea like in Tokyo... if you don't know what DisneySea is you NEED to google it and look around it is one of the best themed disney parks.... too bad there aren't many rides there

I agree a water park would be great. They could add have swimming with the dolphins and the like.

And that right there is the reason you won't see another park anytime soon.

If ever. Whatever benefit Disney could ever get from adding a fifth park, they could get far more benefit with the same capital by building more, elsewhere.

Please don't flame me for this idea...

The idea of villians got me thinking of a bumper car type ride in the style of Cruella-Deville where you chase the puppies of 101 dalmations. :crazy2:

Am I the only one who thinks a villain park would be a terrible idea? The other parks copy Disney...when Disney starts copying all the other parks out there, it looks tacky. And I'm sorry, but Disney may be cheesy at times (in a good way), but it is NOT tacky! I LOVE thrill rides...but I do not go to Disney to play on coasters all day. Plus, it eliminates half of the market. If you build a park with all coasters, then the families with small children can't go. They can send their teens there, but the small kids wouldn't be able to ride and would have a terrible time.

A villain park wouldn't have to be "all coasters."

On another thread like this, I said I would like to see a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory type park. That would be fun, although I don't know that we should have lickable rides.... :rotfl2:
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...this sounds like a good one. Chocolate and candy everywhere. YES!! My kind of theme park.

I have loved the American History idea since it's inception. I wish it would have moved ahead in the original way it was planned. pixiedust:

What I would like to see is more imagination at EPCOT, I have always felt there should be rides beyond the World Showcase that showcase the individual countries.

For the Adults with children it would be great for you to sample the show case while children learn a little about the countries via the rides.

I challenge everyone to come up with a ride for each of the showcase countries. It is your chance to be an Imagineer!! Have fun and be creative! :grouphug:

OK, I'll try to be first at imagineering a WS ride.
How about for France?
The ride could be a quick retreat to the parking lot.
