If you could add a new park to WDW, what would be the "theme" for it?

People on here have suggested a villians themed park before. It should have "big, bad" rides and attractions. A PG-13 park if you will. Something along the lines of Islands of Adventure, but with the Disney "bad guys--and gals".

I agree with the extreme rides idea. They can still be themed. Goofy could have a dizzying roller coaster, instead of something like the barnstormer etc... Everything geared towards older kids and young adrenaline seeking adults. :thumbsup2

Tinkerbells ride could *fly* us around really high, and sickeningly fast :woohoo:

Yep, this is exactly what I was thinking. So who do we submit the idea to? I'm all up for this! LOL

Villians and Coasters
Villians and Coasters
Villians and Coasters

The central icon could be Bald Mountain

I think villians could be the focus of a small part of a park, perhaps a new land in the MK, akin to how they added Toontown, but for a whole new theme park, I'd rather see them go for something really big, like they did with Animal Kingdom. I think the Disney's America idea is worth reconsidering (but feel it probably wouldn't be best in Florida).

I'd love to see a villian-themed park, but I'd really appreciate it if there were some non-stomach churning attractions for those of those who can't ride the thrill rides! I, personally, wish they had walk-thrus for all the rides; some of them have great theming and pre-rides, but I don't get to see them cause of my blasted stomach! I don't know how many of you have been to SeaWorld, but there's something there called Wild Artic, where the polar bears, walruses and other arctic animals are, and before it, there's a choice of a seated film and then you walk to the animal areas, or you can take a simulated-helicopter ride there - I really love the fact that they've done something there for those of us who, for whatever reason, can't do the ride. Anyway, that's my little rant for the day, and, getting back to the original post, I'd like a villians theme park; something for the darker side of all of us, maybe called the Dark Kingdom? I can see the advertising and colors now; black, deep purples, greens, gold... They could give Universal and Busch a run for their money at Halloween, but still keep MNSSHP. :teeth: Now that would be a fun project! ;)

I hope they wait a LOOOONG time for another theme park.. Please improve MGM and Animal Kingdom more... lol

I have to agree with improving MGM. We found it boring, with only two worthy rides...TOT & RnR (which is way too short. The take-off is fantastic, but the rest is tame...reminded me of space mountain, but with loops). Indy was closed due to dance competitions. Star Tours was lame as can be. More simulator rides would make my DH happy. DS & I would love to see more thrill rides.

Disney's America would be great. I'm from the county where they were going to build it in VA. Too bad a bunch of carpet baggers and non-residents ran them off.

I would love to see a Disneysea like in Tokyo... if you don't know what DisneySea is you NEED to google it and look around it is one of the best themed disney parks.... too bad there aren't many rides there

While it is fun to speculate -- WDW announced officially about 4-6 months ago that there are no plans for a new park at WDW whatsoever -- with the Baby Boomer gen leveling off, WDW already having enough to do for a 7 day trip, AK has not met its financial quota yet (that from WDW Today), and that DCA is considered a bit of a financial and artistic bust, they are going to focus on their existing assets. Since there does not SEEM to be any drawing board (blue sky) work presently, it means probably at least 10-15 years before a new park. It's possible that by that time, a new park might be cost prohibitive -- I heard EE was $100,000,000.

I think with EE, AK is a now a terrific park that merits full day attention. MGM does need help.

Btw, I think a Villain Park with Malificent's Castle would be fantastic, but a "Dark Kingdom" to me doesn't seem a part of "Walt's Vision". Who knows, though.

Ok, when I asked it was a hypothetical question, so I'm kind of anxious to see what our imaginations on the DIS come up with... it helps to kill time between WDW visits.

amen to that dragon..... that would have been great in Virginia.

This is a wildy unconfirmed rumour but I do know that Colonial WIlliamsburg has been receiving a lot of official Disney Visitors and CW is in somewhat of a financial bind. There is some speculation among employees there that Disney may be in secret talks to perhaps aquire CW

I would like to see a park geared towards teenagers a little more.

On another thread like this, I said I would like to see a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory type park. That would be fun, although I don't know that we should have lickable rides.... :rotfl2:

I like the Villian idea, but I'd rather have it be a "land" than a whole park.

:lmao:

Seriously, a park for the older kids would be great. I also really wish Disney would come up with more stuff that is "boys only".... I'm sick of seeing them cater to little girls while the boys get nothing in comparison!

I would love to see the American History themed park open, :thumbsup2 , but also agree that a park with more thrill rides would be great....Meanwhile out here on the west coast, we have been hearing rumors that Disney has purchased a large, previously unavailable, plot of land in Anaheim, and is possibly looking to build an Epcot type park (Westcot) out here...We can only hope... :teeth:
