How long did it take from the point of close to get into the system and to have your points show up? Of course my impatience is getting the better of me................
I've heard that first you are input into the system assigning a membership number and then another department inputs the points. Do you have to wait for points to show up in order to make a reservation? Thanks!

For me it took almost two weeks. There was some kind of mix-up on Disney's part... at least that's what my agent said. It wasn't a big deal I won't be making my first reservation for another month and a half, but the waiting was agony!

Hi Mets Fan...(love the Mets)
We just purchased a resale and the entire process took about 8 weeks. Once we received notification that we were officially "closed" I called DVC every day to see if we were in the system. Probably drove them crazy but I could not wait to make our first reservation.

About a week later we finally received info from DVC in the mail, but since I was calling DVC daily after closing, I knew that we were "in" the system already.

Happy New Year and good luck.:thumbsup2

I have purchased two resales. It took just a few days to get my points. It seems it took, maybe, three days the first time and four or five the second resale.

After receiving the email that we had closed, we were in the system in two days. I'm told we were extra quick - but that is how ours went. We received our blue membership cards about 3 weeks after closing. A link to my entire time line is here.

Around this time last year it took under a week for our points to be in for a resale contract we purchased. You can call to find out, don't wait on DVC calling you and if you are close to having these points expire or reaching their banking deadline it can perhaps be worthwhile to explain this concern to MS and although there is no guarantee maybe they can more quickly move the process along for you to get the points into the system for you to utilize.

Never hurts to ask & sending you some pixie dust too pixiedust:

Post back if you can on how things go :goodvibes

:santa:

I bought a resale in mid October and it took until the 1st week in December to show up. I still can't log into the website. I am on hold with them right now to resolve. The password they sent me didn't work because I bought a resale they said.

Here's my resale time line if it helps. We purchased three contracts from GMAC, and submitted two at the same time. Both of our SSR contracts (listed below) and our VB contract took the same amount of time from offer to "in Dis's system." Since GMAC allowed us to use a credit card for up to $4K of the purchase, using one added an extra week to our time line.

From what I've read, I'd say about 8 weeks from offer to reservation is average. It just depends on how quickly the buyers/sellers send in their paperwork at both the offer and closing, and how quickly Dis's passes on ROFR.

* Made offers on 2 contracts through GMAC on 1/9.
* Offers were accepted on both contracts 1/9. Paid downpayment of $100 per contract by credit card, and that was all that was due until closing.
* Contracts went to Dis for ROFR on 1/16.
* Passed ROFR on 1/31.
* Estoppels came back to GMAC on 2/17. This allowed the title company to prepare the closing docs.
* Received closing docs on 2/20. Signed and returned paper work, and sent a cashier's check for balance due back to GMAC on 2/21.
* Deed was recorded through Orange County on 3/7.
* We were in Disney's system on 3/14, and booked first vacation on 3/21.

Congratulations on your purchase, and :welcome: HOME!!! party:

Yes the points need to be in your account. As soon as your account is set up, you can get your member website log-on info from MS. That way you can check the website and you can see when the points show up. Once the account is set up, MS can also tell you where you are in the point processing pile.

Good Luck and WELCOME HOME !
