If you are offered a position and decline does that reflect negatively?

I'm hoping to apply for the Spring 2012 season within the next week. I know that I'm late to apply but I've been tackling some other things in my life recently. I'm not certain that I will be able to go in Spring if accepted. If I would apply and then reject the offer, would they reflect negatively on me? For example, if I applied again then for the fall of 2012, would I be less likely to be accepted?

I'm really concerned. I know that I want to go back on another college program but am still in the process of figuring out which season is best for me.

I have no idea but I am sure someone on here will know. However maybe you should wait to apply until you know for sure you can accept it if offered. My daughter had a friend last Jan. that got offered a role and then declined it. THEN she knew of someone else from her university that got down there and got kicked out within 2 weeks of arriving. What bothered my daughter....she didn't make it in last Jan. She didn't pass the web interview so she was devastated and yet she knew two people that got in and then declined and got kicked out. Made her ill. Good luck with your decision. I hope you can apply when it is best for your situation.

I'm not sure, but I had the same dilemma last semester. I applied early this year and was accepted for Fall 2011, but decided not to go due to some school issues, etc. I was worried that if I applied again I wouldn't get in, but I just got my acceptance for Spring 2012 within 4 days of my phone interview! So there's obviously a chance of you getting in if you have declined a previous offer

I know someone who applied for Spring 2011, was accepted, and had to turn down the offer because of personal problems. She reapplyed and is currently on a CP right now for FA. I'm sure if you explained that it was a personal/school-related situation, they wouldn't be able to fault you for it. But after turning down a CP two or three times, they may begin to think differently.

Is it best to check off as many roles as possible on your applications? Or just a few? And in the phone interview, if they ask if you are interested in adding custodial or whatever it may be, is it bad if you say no?

The first time I applied (last March) I checked off as many roles as I was willing to do, which were nearly all of them. I can't remember if the interviewer asked if I was willing to do something like custodial, mainly because I had checked off so many roles lol I was accepted but decided not to go.

This time around I was more selective about roles and the interviewer even asked if I was interested in Main Gate Operations, because I had a good amount of experience with that role, but I said that I wasn't. In my case I was accepted again (and I'm going in January! ).

I think that if you select a lot of highly competitive roles (such as concierge, attractions, BBB, etc) and aren't as qualified, then saying no to an additional role such as custodial may be a bad thing. But if you already have the majority of roles checked off and say no to adding custodial then I think you're fine.

Do you have your phone interview soon?

No, it will not reflect negatively on you. This specific question is asked on the FAQs of the CP website. They understand that you may have to turn it down for whatever reason, but it will not affect your chances of getting in next time.

i feel like this is why i didn't get picked i applied for the alumni program and only picked out qsf&b because that's what i did on my regular program and it was the only thing out of the 5 or 6 options that i wanted to do and i knew where i wanted to work, etc. i got the rejection letter later on :'( lol i want to go back!! and i can't apply regularly because i can't go back to school until next fall!
