We've NEVER EVER been to the World in October. Our children actually asked this Halloween if we could go to Disneyworld next Halloween. I hesitate about this time of year b/c of weather and I've heard the crowds have definitely become a factor. True? Are the Halloween festivities not to be missed? Any info. would be GREATLY appreciated! Is mostly everything centered around MK? Maybe I should TRY to book VWL when I can?

We went this past October and had a blast! The MNSSHP party has become a must do WDW trip. Also, during October the Food and Wine Festival is going on over at EPCOT. The MNSSHP parties do sell out around Halloween night.

Our kids were actually upset when we told them we booked a disney cruise for next October. They didn't want to miss Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! So I'd say that's a pretty resounding endorsement!

We were at VWL for Halloween week this year, and I would highly recommend that time of year for the activities. Our DGC are too young to stay up late for the MNSSHP, but they enjoyed trick or treating at DTD (2 nights) and the Boardwalk activities on Halloween itself. There were plenty of activities scheduled for VWL/WL on Halloween, but we were at MK, not at the resort during the day.

The weather was not very good, but I suppose that changes from year to year. We had downpours and coolish weather. We were all set to go back next year when the pictures of the castle for the holidays came out, so we've changed our dates. We're going the week before Thanksgiving with family. I may try to sneak in a "girlfriend" trip to get to the MNSSHP and F&W things.

We just booked for 5 days next October the week before Columbus Day. We're going to celebrate DH's 40th and our #2DD's 4th b'day. We really want to go to Food and Wine after reading all the boards about it this year and we can't wait for MNSSHP.

We leave Saturday for our first Disney Christmas! Can't wait to see all the decorations and Candlelight and MVMCP!

I just went this past October(2nd week) to my first MNSSHP- I had a blast!!! October weather was great (o.k. some lovebugs-they are gross, but don't bite). Think it might be my new favorite time of year to go. Have a fun time!:thumbsup2

I love WDW in October. Just booked the week of Columbus day at BWV.

Between MNSSHP and Food and Wine... it's a marvy place to be :-)

As far as MNSSHP goes.. we rode everything we wanted too and then some in 3 hours... We sleep in that day and hit the park at 4 eat, and have at it.

Now, would my kids pick MNSSHP over trickntreating at home.. NO!! They would be so bummed to miss Halloween at home... but they would think long and hard about it that's for sure

We just went to our first MNSSHP and Food & Wine from Oct 29-Nov 7. For months before hand I was dreading the weather; we hate humid (and I was born and raised in Hawaii, go figure) and we had vowed to stay away from Florida between the months of June and October. But, I really wanted to spend my birthday, Halloween, at WDW and do the F&W so we just basically braced ourselves for how sticky and yucky it might be. All in all, I have to say the weather wasn't terrible while we were there. It rained on/off the first 2 days but held off for the MNSSHP on Halloween night and was great for the Nov 2nd party. MNSSHP was great and I would absolutely go back for it. The crowds weren't terrible, even on Halloween night (which was sold out). Our only complaint was that almost all of the MNSSHP merchandise was long gone by the time Halloween rolled around; I just dont understand why Disney doesn't keep a stash just for Halloween night, bust it out at the start of the party, and then once it's gone that night, it's gone. Anyway, you should definitely GO!!!!

We were at the Nov 2nd MNSSHP too! We had a blast, a great time for sure. But we were extremely disappointed that there were no MNSSHP merchadise left too. We like to collect pins for the events we attend or things we that are memorable. This was our first MNSSHP, so now its off to e-bay. Terrible for those guests who can only attend the last party.

The dates have not been released for next year's MNSSHPs yet, but you may just find that there is one the night before you sail. You could come in a day early, do the party, get your park fix and then go on your cruise. We've done this a couple of times and it's worked out great!

We had our first Oct trip this year over Columbus Day weekend. We were expecting it to be crowded, but it wasn't as bad as we have seen in the summer or over Spring Break.

We did have a lot of rain for the MNSSHP, but the kids really enjoyed it anyway. We are planning on going again for 2008. Between the Halloween party and Food & Wine, it was a great time to go.
