If we're arriving 5:30pm, what time would you schedule Ohana dinner?

My in-laws are getting into the airport at 5:30pm. They're taking the Magical Express to the Polynesian to meet us. What would be a good time to schedule Ohana dinner for? I have no idea how long the Magical Express takes. Any advice? Thanks!:goodvibes

I would not schedule a TS dinner if they are getting into the airport at 5:30. The plane could be late. ME could take 2 hours. Then they have to check in when they get to the resort.

I guess if you want you could schedule it (and I think 8:30 sounds like a reasonable time) since there is no $ penalty if you miss it, but you really should realize that they might not make it.

Also, you said they are taking ME to the Poly to meet you and then having dinner. I hope that means that they are staying at the Poly. If they are staying somewhere else, ME will only take them to their resort, not to the Poly.

I would not schedule it unless you don't care if you miss it. I've had to many planes delayed due to weather, crew, etc. Your plane could be serveral hours late. ME has always taken me about an hour on a Sat. I'd allow 1.5-2 hours in case of any delays.

Yes, we're all staying at the Poly which is why I wanted to schedule Ohana for our dinner. I'm thinking 8:30 sounds reasonable then. Thanks for all the replies everyone!:goodvibes

I would approach it this way.....

book the ADR for 8:30....tell parents that if their flight is delayed by any more than 30 minutes they should take a taxi to the POLY.....if parents are not at the resort by 8:20 go ahead to Ohana and explain your situation to see if they can seat you all later.
