I would look into renting a car for one day from the Car Care Center or the Dolphin. For about the cost of the taxi, (maybe even less) you can have a car for 24 hours to go to Universal, hit the outlets, etc.

i used mears the couple of times that i hopped from disney to go to the parks. you can call mears from the POP or book at mears' desk in the airport. it cost approx. $14-$16 per person roundtrip. they will set a pickup time with you. if you book over the phone, you will just pay the driver when he picks you up. to return to POP, you just call the number they will give you 2 hrs before you want to pickup and they will be there. worked great both times i used it and both times it was on my last day when i had to get back for my transfer to the airport. timing worked out great and the price was great!
