...will we survive crowds in late August!?

We have only been back a week but already planning our next trip :yay: and we are looking at the last week in August, having never been in August I was just wondering what the crowds will be like....

Thanks in advance :cloud9:

Definitely! I thought it was busier at the weekend in xmas than it was last August weekend (we were there for the bank holiday too!) for us. It is still busy mind, but a bit of planning and all is cool! :thumbsup2 Longer opening hours mean you can take things a bit more relaxed, especially if you've done a lot of the attractions before :)

Yes - you'll be fine. It is a bit quieter and, if you can rest in the middle of the day and come back later on, you'll find many things easy to get on for the last couple of hours. My family would ride on BTM in the dark with hardly any queue while I stood and watched Fantillusion.

There was something special about being in the Park without being bundled up tight against the cold too.

i agree :thumbsup2

some people advised us not to go in summer hols, but i really found it ok and not as bad as expected :)

we made use of EMH and fastpass where possible, and when it got too busy we would go and have a drink ,stroll around etc

it was a lot less rushed than our xmas trip,as you arent rushing to each ride to try and keep warm !

i know you cant guarantee the weather ! but it will be warmer and hopefully even hot and sunny :goodvibes

Thanks for replies....it sounds like we will be fine if we go for it....

Yes, we were there at the beginning of August this year and then Christmas week - it was MUCH busier at Christmas :scared1:

You'll be fine :)

When over the xmas period did you go and what was it like?

Im hoping to go next xmas but am a bit nervous as Ive read its manic and the park has closed this year from too many visitors!

22nd - 28th - it was a quieter on Christmas Eve but the rest of the week was very busy. We loved it though and still had a great time!

Ill either be booking the 30th nov or 7th dec, not sure yet. Was going to go on the 7th but thinking 30th may be a bit quieter? Theyre the same price.

But looking at the brochure they also gon on 23rd which is £10 cheaper pp for the whole holiday, which should be quieter again?

the earlier in the season, the quieter it would be i would imagine ( unless a wkend)

We mostly go in the height of summer and manage fine. The usual rule of trying to go mid-weeks applies :goodvibes
