If we can DREAM it, we can do it! ..... another 30 day vacation Update 02/07

Hi Karin!:goodvibes

What a fabulous meal at Remy! Pods and I are planning to try it for the first time this next cruise on the Fantasy- we will eat anything (well, Pods doesn't like melon or bananas) so I am REALLY excited about it! I also love that you put yourselves in your server's hands for dinner- I love doing that, nice to be surprised!

Nice sandbar out there on CC! So do you always get the cabana? I'm thinking we may try it with Tom and Evie and hopefully Joan and Peter when we go next fall. Evie doesn't do well in the sun, she might really enjoy that- :)

Sorry I have been so MIA- still in so much baseball! The only reason I am not at one of their games is because I couldn't find a sitter for Sean tonight. But that's ok- there's always tomorrow...or Wednesday...or Thursday...or Friday...:sad2::rotfl:

Are all those items on the menu? They look good, but I don't remember seeing them. I guess I need to cruise again to see if they are. :lmao:

We had that on the magic. one night our servers brought out extra dishes and desserts for us to try too. It was kind of fun.

Oh my gosh, I love your sandbar and 2 for one drink cabana host! Between the 2...and that tomato salad that I love so much...you really are in heaven. I must check out that sandbar someday, how wonderful and stingrays!!!!!!!!! So very cool.

What a magical, perfect day (except for the dry banana bread....mine is NOT dry :rotfl:)

I love the water pics.
If I ever cruise I want your cabana host. LOL
I am drooling from those food pics.
All caught up.

Wonderful photos as always Karin

It must be so lovely to do a back to back cruise and knowing you haven't got to pack up yet!

Wow - your cabana day looks amazing!!!! And what a wonderful dinner. pixiedust:

And even better - our cruise is coming up SO FAST now!!! :cool1:

Oh! Your drinks look yummy. I so love espresso milkshakes!

Your dinner!!! Ohm'goodness!!!! That was a LOT of food. But it all looks way too yummy.

Not sure how I missed that last update (well, then again I have been getting behind on a lot of TRs), but that meal looks amazing! Yummmmmmmmmie!

So sorry I was MIA for such a long time, even though I have been on vacation for 3 weeks.
I really needed to update our home-page, so that was first on my list and since I still had to type out 14 days it took me a while.
Then I had to get my vacation binder together. I have not been so unprepared for a vacation in a long time. :rotfl2: But now it is all done, the binder is super thick, with 33 days planned, ADR times, hotel confirmations and cruise luggage tags. :woohoo:
Needless to say that when I first started to work on our homepage and binder, my computer decided to crash nearly daily and it made working on these things NO fun at all. :rotfl2:

But now I have still 9 1/2 days left before we leave and even though I still have quite a long to do list left, I hope to update a few more times before we leave. :goodvibes

Wow 3 dishes for you for each course !!! They all looked fabulous !!!

The food was wonderful, but it was just SO much and no matter how often we said that we only wanted 1 portion per person - the server would just blink and tell us to let him decide. :rotfl2:

Awesome food pics! :)

Thank you! :goodvibes

Frozen Cappucciono, Grilled Beef Tenderlion, and all those desserts...makes my dinner look unedible.

Ah, I am sure, your dinner was delicious! And I really hope you enjoy your wonderful WDW vacation at the moment. :goodvibes

Awesome that you are going to give Remy a go on your next Fantasy cruise. The food really is awesome - BUT, may I suggest, why not doing lunch - they do serve your beloved "Ice" champagne with the menu. ;)
And it's to die for. :thumbsup2

Actually I always try to snatch a cabana. First time we did, I just wanted to try it, so I could say, we did, but we fell in love with it.
AND, I have very sensitive skin and my eyes give me trouble in the sun. So being able to get completely out of the sun and have a cold drink out of the fridge whenever I want (gazillions of towels and ice cold ones too!) just makes my day. I would not be able to stay out there all day without it, so it's really worth the expense for us.
Oh, and your cabana host goes and fetches your drinks. :rotfl2:
Got cabanas for both visits to CC in 2 weeks. :cloud9:

Yes, Jen, all those items were on the regular menu, but we were on a 5 night (double dip) cruise and they had an extra menu for that day.
I checked the menus for our Fantasy cruises and there is a pretty similar one. ;)

All I can say is I am really hungry now:rotfl2:

Hope you had something to eat in the meantime, Michelle. I cannot wait to see you and your beautiful family again in less than two weeks. :woohoo:

Cynthia, that sandbar was just bliss. Sitting out there in the middle of the ocean, just watching the waves and daydreaming was so wonderful.
And we have (so far) ALWAYS seen stingrays in that lagoon. It is just unbelieveable to see them gliding by next to you. :goodvibes

I am glad you like the pics. And our cabana host was the BEST! Such a nice young man.
Did I read that correctly, you haven't been on a cruise yet?
You NEED to give it a try. Most relaxing vacation ever. :thumbsup2

Glad to see you back! Can't believe its only 9 days to the next epic vacation!

Hey Karin,

Soooo close now to your next trip, how exciting!

Can't wait to hear all about it :)

Lx

Had to take a little break - it's sooooooo hot, even now (11pm). Even typing is hard work. :lmao:

Wonderful photos as always Karin

Thanks, Linda!
We just love to cruise back to back. We feel so bad for all those poor souls who have to pack up and once we have gone through customs on debarkation day, the feeling of just heading up that elevator again, is absolutely amazing. ;)
We are going back to back again this summer - 2 weeks on the Fantasy - should be so much fun. :thumbsup2

Wow - your cabana day looks amazing!!!! And what a wonderful dinner. pixiedust:

CC days are the best! Serenity Bay is our little piece of heaven. :goodvibes

Yes, our cruise is coming up fast! We leave in only 9 days (and a few hours). I can't believe it! :beach:

Oh! Your drinks look yummy. I so love espresso milkshakes!

Your dinner!!! Ohm'goodness!!!! That was a LOT of food. But it all looks way too yummy.

They make some awesome coffee drinks at Cove Cafe and Vista Cafe. I don't usually drink coffee, but I could be converted to a coffee fanatic with those drinks. :goodvibes
Cruise ship food is A LOT of food. Thankfully the individual portions are smaller than regular US portions. :lmao:

Just checkin' in and waiting for an update!!

Update coming pretty soon, Rosie. Don't think it will be happening tonight - it is already past 11pm and I am pretty tired. :goodvibes

Karin... I thought you'd be interested in the new desserts at Cali Grill...

Those look amazing, don't they? I was so excited when I first saw them. Thanks for sharing here.
I am still checking daily if they open up during our stay and keeping my fingers crossed. Plus, we are debating to email Michael, the CG manager, to ask if they will be open while we are there. We'll see. ;)

Not sure how I missed that last update (well, then again I have been getting behind on a lot of TRs), but that meal looks amazing! Yummmmmmmmmie!

Mary Ellen, NO problem at all here. :goodvibes I fell behind myself and even though I am already on vacation, I still have a hard time catching up. ;)
You are going to love DCL food in 2014! :thumbsup2

Glad to see you back! Can't believe its only 9 days to the next epic vacation!

Thank you!
It has been a busy three weeks, but at least I have some time to catch up on everyone's reports and update my own now. :goodvibes
Yes, we hit the single digits today. I cannot believe it. :woohoo:

Hi Linda,
Thanks for checking in.
Yes, we are getting "frightfully" close to our vacation. 5 more days of work for Tom and then next Wednesday we are off.
Can't wait.

Day 18, August 28

Another day in paradise - Part 5

We headed back to our stateroom, changed into very comfortable clothes and headed on deck.
We were eager to find out if there would be fireworks that night. Deck 12 was packed but we were able to find a spot midship right at the railing above the party area on the opposite side of where the fireworks would be fired. We watched the party guests dancing and cheering for a while. Time came that the fireworks should have been started. Nothing happened, then another announcement and everyone was holding their breath. But this time it was the announcement that someone real special was to start the fireworks. It took a minute or two and the special guest made his appearance.

It was no one else but the main mouse himself in his Sorcerer costume.

He waved a magic wand and the fireworks went off without a hitch.

Now that’s what I call Disney magic. The fireworks were fun as always and after they had ended we stayed for a little while

to let the first crowds subside.
We then walked down the two flights of stairs and back to our stateroom. It was sad to see some of the suitcases still outside. For most of the cruisers this was their last night. We quickly checked back into our stateroom, had a quick drink and then went downstairs to watch the Fairwell Party. All the characters come out to say goodbye and it was fun to watch them all coming down the stairs.

They stayed for autographs and photos and we saw Michelle and her family right in the middle of it all.

So we walked down, waited with them and after some time said our goodbyes, but not without vowing that we would meet again, once we would be back at Walt Disney World.
Back in our stateroom we sat out on the veranda for a while to discuss the trip’s events, before we fell into bed.

To be continued ............
