If we can DREAM it, we can do it! ..... another 30 day vacation Update 02/07

On our trip in January I told DH about Cooke's of Dublin and the scallops. He loves him some scallops. We usually go to Raglan Road for the scallop forrest they have. But I told him let's try this place. It was so good. We got exactly what you and Tom got. DH the scallops and me the fish & chips. Yummo! And we sat outside in the sun with a beer from the bar right there. Doesn't get any better. ;)

And now you are dining at one of our all time favorite places to eat. Yachtsman's. What a yummy dining day!

Oh, and we will be at WDW in just 3 days! And on the Dream in 4. So excited! Woo Hoo!

Pineapple Upside Down Martini, Skyy Infused Pineapple Vodka, Frangelico, Pina Colada Mix and freshly squeezed lemon juice, topped with whipped cream. We waited at the bar until the drinks were ready, paid the bill and headed over to the check in desk. A host was already waiting and took us over to our table.

To be continued ............

You mean....."Heaven in a Glass" Boy that looks tasty.

Your villa at OKW is making me really want to go back there for a visit. I love that resort. And the 1BR is HUGE!

Oh my...the villa pictures are lovely. If it didn't cost twice as more than a studio, I was going to book it for our 30th anniversary in August but I just couldn't see paying double the cost. :(

I am so ordering that drink when we go to Yachtsman next month. :thumbsup2

Where were these villas? I might have missed that. It is so big and beautiful...

Those "steaks" and that drink you got is making me want to eat and drink- RIGHT NOW.. AHHHH

Your villa is so pretty! All that space!!!

Your drink looks pretty yummy...

The space actually is the reason we LOVE to stay at OKW. The villa is 962sq ft. which is so nice. You really feel at home there.

The drink was sooooooo good. I had this more than once. :rotfl2:

OKW looks so nice!

Oh my word! I need that martini!! How delicious was it?

OKW is wonderful! We just love it there.
You need to try that Martini! It was soooo good! :cloud9:

Tom loves the scallops at Cookes! I just love the fish and chips with a few drops of Malt Vinegar on top.

Lucky girl being back at WDW in just a few days and being back on the DREAM. :thumbsup2 Have LOTS of fun! :goodvibes

Mary Ellen, that was one really yummy drink! :thumbsup2

We love OKW. They got us hooked in 2006 when I booked a studio with an AP discount and they put us in a 1 bedroom for 9 nights. I nearly fell over backwards when I saw all the space we had. Didn't want to move out any more (not that I want to move out of ANY Disney resort) :rotfl2:

Even though the villas don't come cheap, they are so wonderful, Kathy. And for the points they cost, it is really reasonable, given they are the lowest cost villas. :thumbsup2

They have a lot of yummy drinks at Yachtsman and I really enjoyed that drink!

That's a one bedroom villa at Old Key West. They are really nice and we enjoy all that space and having a full kitchen. Not that we cook much, but it is nice to have. :rotfl2:
There is a huge balcony with a table and 4 chairs too. Just perfect for a relaxing time on vacation. ;)

Great updates and pics.

All the drinks look so good.

Off to read the cruise report.

I suppose because we live in the UK we've never had fish & chips in WDW but your lunch from Cookes Of Dublin looks yummy

I know for sure that DH would love to try it.

We've never eaten at the Rose and Crown or the Yorkshire County Fish Shop either!

My fellow Brits tell me that both places are pretty good though :)

Linda, we were very aprehensive when it came to British food. Having stayed with my aunt in Orpington often, we knew "real" British food, but Rose and Crown is really nice. I am not so fond of the Yorkshire County F&C shop. We only tried it once and it was pretty greasy.
We LOVE Cookes of Dublin. They cook to order and it may take a while for your order to come out, but the fish is always piping hot with a lovely light and crispy batter. Sooooooooo yummy!

Day 13, August 23

Food overload and a sad goodbye to friends - Part 3

A host was already waiting and took us over to our table.
We sat and enjoyed our drinks, looking through the menu and it took a while until our server showed up. He was fun, but he was slow, and I mean really slow moving.
Once he had greeted us and gone through his spiel he asked for our order. As always there were two Diet Cokes to quench the thirst and I ordered a

Lobster Bisque, Maine Lobster, Herbs de Provence biscotti, and roe Chantilly. Our server disappeared for some time and when he returned he brought a basket full of

IMG_5283.jpg

Onion Pull aparts and dinner rolls, some

IMG_5285.jpg

Butter with Sea salt and

IMG_5286.jpg

Roasted Garlic to spread on them, and my soup. The bisque was wonderful, light with a lot of good junks of lobster in it. Tom tried the Onion rolls and they were wonderful.
Once I was done with my soup I tried one of the Onion rolls as well and they were heavenly and the garlic and butter added some great flavour to them. While we were still waiting for our main courses we had gotten a text from our friends Elaine and Howie that they had returned to Bay Lake Tower and were waiting for us to come over. So, the long absence of the server seemed even longer, knowing they were waiting for us.
Finally our main course was served. Tom had opted for his favourite,

the 28-oz Porterhouse served with herb fries and roasted garlic butter. He had also ordered a side of

IMG_5291.jpg

Truffle Mac & Cheese, Orecchiette Pasta and Reypenaer Cheese, for us to share. My main course was the 8-oz

IMG_5290.jpg

Center Cut Filet Mignon served with Mashed Potatoes and Cabernet Wine Sauce. Both were delicious and we loved our meals and worked hard to finish them. It took quite a while for our server to pick up the dirty plates, refill the soft drinks and finally bringing out the dessert menus.
Being on the Disney Dining Plan we knew we wanted to at least try a dessert. So Tom ordered the

IMG_5300.jpg

Habanero-infused Flourless Chocolate Cake, Mango Compote and

IMG_5299.jpg

Lime Sorbet, which I had tried the year before and it still was as awesome as the year before. I had ordered the

IMG_5297.jpg

Crème Brûlée, Vanilla Custard, pineapple compote and a ginger snap tuille. It was just that, Crème Brulee, nothing special and I gave up halfway through it. We were finally ready to leave and were looking for our server to let him know we would like to have our bill. He was nowhere to be seen.
We waited a little more, nervously checking our watches and no, he was nowhere to be seen. It took a pretty long time until he finally appeared again after a short chat he agreed to get the bill ready. Again it took a long time for him to come around again with the bill, then he needed to process the DDP and our Tables in Wonderland and after quite some time we finally were off.
We headed back out to our car and soon we were on our way to Bay Lake Tower.
About 15 minutes later and right in time for the fireworks we arrived at the hotel. We needed to show our member cards to be able to go up to the lounge and a few minutes later we were reunited with our friends. We all waited for the fireworks and watched them from the deck outside the lounge.

IMG_5301.jpg

Once they were over, we walked back to the lounge, found a nice table and we all ordered some drinks. Tom and I had Diet Cokes, but we managed to talk Elaine into trying the Pineapple Upside Down Martini, Skyy Infused Pineapple Vodka, Frangelico, Pina Colada Mix and freshly squeezed lemon juice, topped with whipped cream.

IMG_5303.jpg

We spent quite some time in the lounge, chatting away and enjoying the time together. It was pretty late when we finally said goodbye, hoping to see each other again once we returned from our cruise. Finally back at the car we decided to take the top down and enjoy our drive home. Back at Old Key West I finished packing, we had some drinks

and a little after midnight we finally went to bed.

Dinner looks so yummy! Sounds like service could have been a tad better though.

More time with friends!! Does make for wonderful vacation, doesn't it?!

Dinner looks good. I need to get there some day

The steaks at Yachtsman are divine, Jen. And I am amazed by the size of Tom's steak. He hardly touches his sides as the steak is SO huge.
Oh, and I really enjoyed the bisque too. :goodvibes

Oh those steaks look soooooo delish!!!! Don't you hat it when a server is soooo slow !!!

I usually don't mind if the servers leave us more time to eat, but when you are on a schedule and want to meet up with someone, it is NO fun to have to hunt down your server most of the time. ;)

It was only our second visit to Yachtsman and both have been wonderful! The
meat is so tender, you can cut it with a fork. :goodvibes

We got to know some wonderful friends through these boards. You, by the way, are one of them. :thumbsup2

Never heard of Cookes of Dublin, but I will have to give it a try next time we are there. Rachel & I tried the fish & chips from the Yorkshire F&C shop and also found it to be greasy. We haven't eaten there again. In Dec we ate at Rose & Crown for the first time and really enjoyed the food.

We ate at the Yachtsman a few years ago and I don't remember those onion rolls..they look so yummy!!

We had such a good time with both of you at the lounge. So glad we were able to spend the night together. And thank you for convincing me to order the drink. I loved it....I wanted to get it in Dec, but the way the vacation went, I just never had the chance. I will keep the drink in mind for future trips.
