If we add on at AKV....

If we add on 50 points at AKV, I'm assuming that we'll get 2008 points as our use year is September. Do we pay dues on those points or just the ones for Sept 2009?

I know we'll do an add-on if the price is right in the next month. I'm just trying to figure out if we want BLT or AKV. If we do AKV, we get 2008 points plus a lower buy-in. But.... if we do BLT, we own at BLT and we'd have lower dues on those points long-term.

FWIW - we are closing on a 100 point AKV purchase right now. I either want to split the resorts at 100 points each or do all one resort for 160 points for now. Hmmmmmm....... guess a lot depends on what the incentives are come 6/15 as we aren't in the system yet.

You would pay prorated dues for 2009, but no dues for 2008. Unlike UY, dues go on a calendar year schedule. I loved this -- feels like getting developer points!

We recently added 50 points (august UY) and were told that only 150 points remained after our add-on that also included 2008 points. If your points are deeded from Kidani units rather than Jambo units, apparently you don't get 2008 points, since Kidani certificates of occupancy were not issued until 2009. Once Jambo points are gone for a given UY, there are no contracts remaining with 2008 points for that UY.

If there aren't any Jambo points left, I know we'll do BLT. Maybe that will make the decision for us. AKV is my favorite, but dh wants BLT points, too.

Disney can waitlist you if the points aren't available at the time you call for add-on; sometimes the points may become available in a matter of days but it can also take months.

Will probably be Kidani as I think Jambo sold out some time ago. No difference really, except for when you can start using your points ie the first reservation date can only be after the unit you have bought is available for occupancy.

For Dec 2008 points to be available the occupancy date has to eb anywhere between Dec 1st 2008 and November 30th 2009, so your unit may not be in the inventory for occupancy yet, but is likely to be Kidani. On the paperwork it will tell you your unit number and building.

Yeah, all that matters is that you get 2008 points. My impression was that these were mostly limited to points deeded from Jambo units, but evidently not!

Our add-on points are in Unit 31, which does appear to be Jambo, and we just added on about a month ago.
