I am torn on whether we should try Tusker on our upcoming trip. I have an ADR for the TH-ROL dining package on 12-27 but I’m having second thoughts. My family did not like Sanaa at all when we dined there a couple years ago. DH and I have eaten Indian food a few times and liked it but, for whatever reason, Sanaa was not for us. Plus, my two kids really did not like it. One DD is quite picky and she likes buffets because it’s more likely for her to find stuff she likes. But I’m worried that the buffet food will have too much Indian/African spices...

Tusker House is nothing like Sanaa, so no, that shouldn't drive your decision. Tusker House has plenty of American food, and the atmosphere is casual and open. And of course, the characters are there. It's a different experience.

Also, Tusker House is much more like Boma, and does not have the more Indian and intense spices of Sanaa.

I don't care for Sanaa (other than their bread service), but Tusker House is one of my favorite restaurants on property. I don't see much similarity between them at all.

Do breakfast. Last year, it was included in the ROL package.

We LOVE breakfast at Tusker House! We’re not fans of African or Indian food either. Breakfast is really good. Traditional character meal.

DH and I have been to both Sanaa and Tusker House. They are nothing alike. Tusker House is a huge buffet. There are a lot of items you would recognize, plus some African-inspired items. Plenty of options to choose from. With kids, I think Tusker House is a better option. There are kid-friendly items for lunch/dinner such as: corn dog nuggets, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, deli meats and cheeses. There are also a lot of dessert options to choose from, including several types of cookies. There are several kid-friendly items on the breakfast menu too. Plus, breakfast, lunch or dinner it's a character meal with Safari Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Daisy. DH and I usually add some of the kid items on our plates. We love Tusker House!

I like both but agree that Sanaa and Tusker are nothing alike. Tusker is a buffet, the spices are way tamed down vs. Sanaa and there is a lot of choice with plenty for plain eaters. The people who tend to be "meh" on it are those who prefer MORE exotic, not less.

I agree with this. I loooove Tusker breakfast, but i didnt care for the lunch/dinner options at all.

To me tusker breakfast is not difference than any other buffet breakfast. I wouldn’t waste my time again there on breakfast.

Tusker lunch and dinner and Sanaa are nothing alike.

I'm a very picky eater and don't like many Indian or African foods. We had lunch at Tusker House last summer, and I found more than enough to eat and try and was full. We usually visit for breakfast, but we enjoyed trying a different meal this time. Plus Tusker House is one of my most favorite themed restaurants on property!

Go for breakfast. We didn't really like Sanaa either and had breakfast at Tuskers. Unfortunately it was a late breakfast and things were changed over to lunch quickly. We weren't crazy about the lunch options.

If you even have to ask, you should be changing your ADR. There are plenty of other dining options you can choose from rather than forcing a cuisine on your family which you already know they don’t like. Sure it’s a buffet and they will have other options but they are limited. Would you choose to dine in a seafood restaurant if no one likes fish? Pick a restaurant you know your family will like, everyone will be much happier.

Have you thought about Tiffins? It is more expensive but we really enjoyed both of our meals there.

Exactly! I once told a boyfriend, "Stop calling yourself a 'picky' eater. Admit, 'I'm an unadventurous reader.' You'll be happier."

Perspective is a funny thing. I don't really find Sanaa to be particularly exotic of overly spicy at all.
