Does Disney ever buy back? If they do, how do we find out if those buy backs are available to us as new comers or as add ons?

Each sold out resort has a waiting list for add-ons. The people on the wait list are asked if they wish to add on when points become available. Of course, they are sold at Disney's going rate.

we just closed on 100 bwv points from disney ...on the list for 1 week:)

We were on the wait list 3 days when our guide called us to say he had 300 points. We could buy any amount we wanted from 50-300. When Disney buys back and sells, the buyer can buy any amount he/she wishes as long as they are still available. We are just closing on an add-on of 51 through a resale and turned him down. Told him to call back again.

Actually, I think that very few of these contracts are from "buy backs". They are more likely from forfeitures on DVC contracts. This is a common phenomenon in the timeshare industry.

In most cases, resale brokers have done a good job educating their sellers and buyers where DVC's cut-off for RoR may be at any given time and few sellers will want to accept anything below that level.

In the few cases where DVC indicates that an offer is below their threshhold, I've been told that the buyer has been allowed to redo the offer to raise it above that point. If the buyer doesn't wish to go higher, then DVC will buy it at the agreed upon price.
