I was jurst driving into the farm office from the farm...about a 15 min. drive....and I saw something that really caught my eye...along the side of the road in the snow was a small pet carrier box (like the type you'd use to transport a cat in to the vet's or something)....

Usually I'd just think it blew out of the back of someone's pick up truck or something...but I had a 'feeling' that I should check it out....so I parked and walked back to it....there was a Cat In It! It looks pretty skinny...and must be suffering from Hypothermia! Nothing in the cage..no blanket, towel...nothing. The temp here this morning is -9F with a wind chill in excess of -30F...the poor little thing looks frosted over!

I've got her here with me still in the carrier and I've got some water...and I've put a call into my Vet's to ask for advice.

I don't see any realistic way this could have been an "accident".
I'm gonna call the animal shelter and the police....No one in these parts can possibly underestimate the effects of this weather...how could someone have done something like that?!???

It makes me want to find the guy that did this...and hold him down in a snow bank out there for an hour to see how he "likes" it!

{sorry for the vent}

GP--I am so glad you stopped, and gave in to your 'feeling' Poor little thing. I'm sure the poor little one is warming up just fine with Uncle Goofy.

Thank you for stopping and caring for this poor, lonely animal. You are a kind person, GP. Hopefully the vet will diagnose it as being healthy and it will live a long life with you or someone else who can care for it properly. You did a great thing!

poor little kitty...thanks for being such a good samaritan

What a terrible way for an animal to die, it couldn't even search out shelter for itself. I'm so glad you stopped. Even if the animal shelter has to put this poor kitty down, euthanasia has to be more humane than freezing to death.

I hope it was an accident.

So good you stopped, GP. If done purposely by someone, hopefully they will be justly dealt with. Sad. I know on more than one occasion that I have come home to abandoned or lost dogs that Lady M had brought home, and always they have had an happy ending. Hope this one does also, GP.

GP, so glad you decided to stop and check it out. That poor thing. :( I just don't understand how people could be so cruel.

And by the way, if you find who did it, give a holler and I'll help you hold that person down.

Looks like the kids on the farm are going to be having a new play pal! :p Cool!

I'm like you GP. If I had any suspicions about an animal at all and something told me to stop, I would have. Some people are just so cruel. Maybe they were really, really stupid and didn't think anything would happen, maybe they were really hopeful that someone would stop, but it seems to me, since there wasn't even a shred of paper in there to help keep her warm, that they just didn't care. :( How cruel. :(

I hope she pulls through this and she's up and running around on the farm, bugging you, in no time. ;) :p

Name her Tuti, short for Fortuitous, which means happening by chance, lucky, happy. :) :)

Poor kitty. :(
Good for you for stopping, GP.
I really hope the kitty is OK.

GP...what goes around comes around and the person who did this will "get theirs" in the end. Anyone with a heart that cold has to be a miserable person!!! I am so glad you stopped and rescued that poor baby! Ship him to me....he can share the heating pad that I put out for my "garage kitty" last night...and the extra food cause its cold and......:)
There are some nasty people in this world GP....but people like you more than make up for them. Good job my friend!:)

Thank God you happened along! I would do more than hold him in a snow bank for an hour! Snow insulates too well. I would strip him and spray him with water and send him out in the -15 air temps we have here this morning! I doubt he would last long!!!

I'm *fuming*! I can't believe someone would do that so such a poor, defenseless kitty. :( Thank you *so* much for stopping, GP. You're that kitty's guardian angel. Hopefully the vet will give her a clean (even if cold) bill of health and she can find a new home. Either with you, or someone else that will love her.

How cruel can a person be:mad:
Thank You so much for stopping for that lil' fur baby. I hope he gets a clean bill of health and finds a great home.

for going back to check.
People are so cruel sometimes. Poor little kitty...every animal deserves to be loved :-)

That is SO horrible! Please give us an update and let us know how he/she is doing.

GP, I'm so glad you went with your feeling. Please let us know how the poor baby is doing. :(

God Bless you GP! People that do that sort of thing are the type that make me want to pummel their little moronic heads into the ground and give up on people all together and just hang with my puppies and kitties instead, but then people like you make me realize there are still hearts of gold out there. Keep us posted on how the little sweetie is doing.

Thank heaven YOU saw it GP!

I hope the little kittie ends up okay!
