What a cool video! We just returned home on Wednesday from a 6 day trip and I already miss it a ton.. we will definitely be back next July or August for our annual 6 day but we are hoping maybe a smaller 3 day trip sooner Have FUN!
I would guess as they were going up the lift hill with the owls. You can see the people coming down in the boat. Also if the boat comes down just right while you're going up you get splashed.
Do you edit videos for a living? This looks better than some of the Disney commercials I've seen! Totally makes me want to go back 1 last time before my pass expires.
Thanks! No, just a hobby. I started taking video of our trips about 10 years ago and have kinda honed my look a little more each time. This one was entirely shot on an iPhone and edited with iMovie. Anyone could do it, really
Got that shot while we were on the ride, but I can't remember exactly where. I think it was just going around the bend towards the first drop. I will say that the waterproof case for the phone helped on the water rides. Other than that, it was just the iPhone slow motion and some simple editing in iMovie.

If you have an iPhone 6, I would recommend shooting everything in slow motion. The beauty of slow motion is that you get so much more footage to choose from. Ten seconds of filming in slow motion equals...I actually don't know what it equals but it's a whole lot more The point is, when you edit it later, you can get that perfect five seconds of footage that makes your video shine.
Having a waterproof case is a must. It doesn't need to be submergible, but you want something that will protect your phone from splashes. That's how you'll get all those action shots on water rides.
Lastly, this is maybe my 8th video I've shot from Disneyland in the last 10 years. My first few videos sucked but gradually got better. Just keep practicing and have fun with it! You'll get better as time goes on and will figure out what works best for you. Besides, you get to take multiple trips to the park by practicing anyway
Good luck! And please share what you make if you decide to shoot a video!
