If staying at Polynesian do we need OHana or Kona PS?

We are staying at the Polynesian in Dec. I remember reading that many previous guests there did not make PS for Ohana(breakfast and/or dinner) or Kona Cafe(breakfast/lunch) and got right in. Should we make these or just wing it when we're there?

That time of year the crowds should be minimal so you probably won't need a PS. There's no priority for a guest at any hotel over others. It's first come, first served, unless you do have a PS.

If you want to do O'Hana's on a weekend night make PS. Saturday nights can get very busy at many WDW resort restaurants including O'Hana's because locals also eat at the WDW restaurants.

We always make PS for each trip just to be safe. Early December this year looks like it will be busier than what's usual for that time too. Remember you can always make the PS after you check in if you're not concerned with the time you eat. If you need a specific time, I'd make the PS now.

We just ate at 'Ohana's last Monday evening. We had a PS for 6:40 and had to wait only about 10 minutes to be seated, but I did notice several families waiting in the waiting area. I would make a PS and then cancel or change the time if you need to.

Depends on when in December. We were there a week before Christmas in 2000 and everything was mobbed. We were at Poly last week--PS a must for O'hana on weekends. Kona Cafe was sometimes filled with long lines waiting for breakfast. When in doubt, make PS.
