Well, as I was saying in my first post in this thread (though it's entirely possible that my post was invisible LOL), the hotel where we experienced two *small* roaches apologized immediately, were mortified, had a bug guy up before we even were able to move rooms, and gave us a renovated, amazing, room for no extra charge. *
So, yeah, I do expect a place to take responsibility for it, and not just pretend it doesn't exist.
*Even though *we* weren't overly concerned with it, knowing they were under renovations and knowing that the bugs come out when that happens. (also, in thinking about it, it's entirely possible the bug guy was already there, and was spraying, causing the little suckers to scatter and show themselves)
Oh, and for anyone who hasn't been to Florida (but plan to), just know that "palmetto bugs" (aka huge flying roaches) are common, and have *nothing* to do with cleanliness at all...people find them in their hotel room sometimes. My mom was one of the cleanest people in the world, who kept her house spotless, but when she lived in Florida there were palmetto bugs that showed up in the house every so often. Note: hairspray works to kill them if you don't want to stomp on them.
