No matter how small the problem is, please report anything that is wrong in a DVC unit. Unless it's reported, it doesn't get fixed.

We returned last week from our annual Spring Break trip, part of which we stayed at OKW, our home resort. We pulled out the sofa bed the first night & found the left top corner of it to be completely broken. We reported it & they finally came to fix it.

Some of the blinds were broken & even though the maintenance person wasn't too keen on fixing them when he heard about that "small" problem he did take care of them.

The insides of the dishwasher in our unit were broken also - the wheels kept falling off.

No matter how small, please report the problems. While I feel that housekeeping should check all this when a room is turned over, obviously, it's not done, so it's up to the owners to report problems when there is one.

I agree with reporting problems, if not things will not be fixed.

Yes, please do!
I feel like such a pest when I have to report small, and sometimes not so small, repair issues. I have considered simply letting maintenance know when we leave, but then I wonder whether the repairs get done before the next guest arrives. So we deal with the inevitably untimely arrival of maintenance. It really would be great if all guests appointed themselves as repair monitors so problems get fixed before they multiply.

We just returned from a week at Boardwalk, our home resort. Unfortunately the things that I found of concern were not small fixes. The shower door was rusted with mold all around it and the curtains were filthy. I have emailed member services asking who I could speak to about this... does anyone else have any idea who I contact? When I checked out I was told to contact guest relations via the Disney website. I have a feeling this is not the correct place... so I started with Member services.

I totally agree with the OP! The time to insist on things being fixed is when you are there. I might add, that the best wayto get this done is not to call 'front desk' on the phone or even maitenance. Often the best way is to physically go down to the front desk and ask to speak to managment. When you call 'front desk' on the phone, it goes to a central location, and not your real resort front desk. I had the best service when I actually physically went down and told them my problem. It was fixed right away then.

Yes! I hate it when I am reading a trip report, and it is mostly a resort bashing, and then, find out the OP never once reported the broken, or dirty problem.

We checked into an OKW Grand Villa 2 years ago, and the 1st thing my sister noticed, was the glass in the picture frame in the bathroom was cracked. I did not want OKW to think it was us that broke it, so I only called to report it, so they could note that it was already broken. We leave for the parks, and when we returned, discovered a new piece of glass in the frame. WOW, that was quick for a broken picture. I didn't even ask them to fix it, it didn't even occur to me.

It only takes a couple of minutes to pick up the phone.

The last time we stayed at OKW, the shower drained VERY SLOWLY. We called that day and had it fixed but I was surprized that mousekeeping did not report it. :sad2: To say the least my kids took a shower the whole week.
