Yes for I have seen what Satan's home world will be like, for you see I was Wall-Mart at 5:30 this morning.

If pin trading has taught me one thing its patience in the long lines, I was lucky, unlike the hundreds of others who were not trained for this type of commando early morning maneuvers.

I learned to sit in line and wait my turn, I learned to talk to my fellow person next to me and make light conversation, and my most valuable lesson I learned to go the place the night before and find out where the voucher for the pins… Errr I mean digital camera's will be handed out.

The few five hundred or so amateurs that showed up to get the 100 Samsung 27inch TV's on sale for $148.00, and the other 2000 or so that wanted one of the 250 Kodak Digital cameras. I'm sorry but next time spend a few days with us at Disney standing in line for pins and we will teach you the do's and don'ts of how to get what you want.

So now thats it all over I would like to say….

To the lady that tried to kill sixty or so customers with her shopping cart when she found out the TV's were on the other aisle, and they were just handing them out to whomever was next to the pile of them. (I told you your silly line that you created meant nothing)

To the lady that screamed when the manager said only one game boy advanced per person, are we to blame if you have three kids at home, rule number #3 of pin acquisition… (two pins per person if the pins are LE, and the persons must be present to purchase) and really ordering the only three men in line to give them up and give them to you that was wrong.

To the lady not strong enough to hold on to the DVD player that was tossed to her and having it snatched from her hands by the little old lady behind her, ma'am if you noticed that little old lady had a Walt Disney Sweater on, and the true signs of a lanyard burn were visible around her neck, you were dealing with a pro and did not stand a chance, yelling all those foul words only made the crowd laugh and all the pin traders there in secret just snicker quietly.

To the man who said over and over and over again this is impossible we can't be everywhere at once, how can we be here for the TV and there for the camera, and then standing over in that isle for the DVD, and wait in the other line to get the game boy. Well sir any pin trader will know how many troops to bring and where to place them and if your low in numbers pair up with other members of another pin house and divide and conquer. In other words you sir were not prepared "You are the weakest link goodbye"

And last Thank you Thank you my friends my pin pals for teaching me all the lessons I needed to make this a hoot of a day, the planning the strategies, the knowledge to make me a master of the game all paid off. From 5:30 am to now 11:30 am. My shopping is done I got everything I wanted, and even had time to trade for a grumpy head with the little old lady at Wall-Mart (She owed me, after all I deflected that DVD her way… a bit of nepotism you might say) I will wear my grumpy head proudly as I now go off to the parks to spend the rest of my day with my pin family and friends. Letting the few miserable souls still looking for the CDR rewritable CD-ROM available for $9.99 after rebates… I got mine. Thanks pin pals.

The morning in brief detail

5:30am to 7:00am Wall-Mart long lines I had a person at the registers from the minute we got there. Another family at cameras, me at TV's and Electronics Donna safe in lady lingerie and making a mad dash for electronic toys when the manager came out at 6:30 with a restocking box.

7:15am to 7:30am Best buy no parking anywhere, and the wonderful Orange county police department though it was a good day to check license plates, thus leaving police cars scattered all over the parking lot adding to the confusion. Abandoned this idea and headed to Staples.

7:45am to 8:45am no parking had Donna fake a heart attack and ran inside got everything except web cameras on sale for $9 drat on to the next.

8:55am to 9:10am Kmart its safe again since they dropped Martha Stewart, parking was easy got in got out no hassles bought nothing since they had nothing that was supposed to be on sale, boy did they look silly.. Got a bunch of rain checks though fine "I'll be back"

9:20am to 11:00am Best Buy got lucky found parking spot in front of store this saved ½ hour at least got to the front of the building a woman drove by and called me a jerk seems she saw the parking spot from the turnpike and declared it hers and in the name of the province of Quebec her home town. Went inside and found no carts got the last of almost everything checked out just as they announced the sales where now over. We ran out just as the X-boxes started to fly the look of fear in the manager's eyes spoke volumes as we knew we will never see any of them again.

On a side note for those of you shopping today, remember your training at pin gorilla camp, use the force and be at one with the universe. Anyway it 65 degrees outside…

ED and Donna you just went shopping on the craziest day in the universe, what are you doing next? "We're going to Disney World"

We have to Manny and Michelle are there waiting for us so beware evil doer's where ever you are….. the Manuello brothers will soon be getting together….

Well said...I have never seen things like I saw yesterday morning in Wal-Mart...!!!

Watch where you run with that cart next time though...;)

Ed, can you come up here and do our shopping for us? ;)

At least Donna was the one at WalMart in ladies lingeire and not Ed. :teeth:

Ed,
I did the WallMart wait too. But your right, that is the first thing I thought of when I was waiting in the looooonnnnggg line at 5 am. These people are toast. The doors opened, everyone stood in line to get a carriage, I was runninnnnn.
I got into the store and headed over to Electronics. I grabbed a few DVD players, and a tv/vcr, then got the coupon to pick up the 27" tv, then over to the toy dept. 4 bikes. Then pushing all my finds I went back to get a carriage. Then a few pairs of jeans for the boys, socks, underwear...(yes, it's boring in my house at Christmas) And finished by 7 am.
Time for some tea and a donut. Luckily Dunkin Donuts is always open.
On to JC Penny. Went into the store and grabbed a snowglobe. Took the escalator to the first floor and went to the door, another snowglobe. Circled the store 3 times for a total of 6 snowglobes. Left the mall happy.
I am almost done with my shopping now, just have to buy for one more person and wrap it all. The worst part.
But I don't get to go to WDW till after Christmas. Lucky Ed and Donna. Peggie

Ed that was quite entertaining! I had to work so Steve went out to do my "early" shopping.

You are right on the mark about K-Mart. Didn't have ANYTHING we went for, other than the Disney Music game. Did get rainchecks though.

Steve's day started at Toys R Us, followed by KMart, Target, A&N, and then  "the mall"

He stood in line for hours, just for me (whew!) 50 minutes in line at Target, 1 hour at A&N, and the others he managed okay. Best story was Toys R Us. He said that the line was all the way to the back of the store. He came around a corner with his purchases, and a nice girl looked at him and said "are you ready to check out?" He said yes, expecting to have to get at the end of the 2 mile line. To his surprise (and to the surprise of MANY other shoppers I'm sure) she sent him to the registers next! Boy, was he a happy camper! (I told him that the rest of the time he spent in line was payback for getting in front of all of those other shoppers!)

Glad to see you made it home in one piece Ed--and great planning. Pin collecting has come in handy!

LOL This stuff only happens too you guys. I'm glad I didn't have to go shopping today. But then again I had to deal with everyone that came to DTD to shop.

Next time you guys are down when I'm working tell the security person to call me. It would have been great to see 2 friendly faces with all the maddness that was going on.

Another Lesson to be learned from pin trading:
DO NOT yell at the cast members. (Or hit them with car doors) You will not get what you want. Also when an informed cm tells you to go to a certain place do it! You may actually get your pin/ parking spot.

We did tell the nice lady at DTD that we were looking for you. She said you had been bad, and were doing parking lot duty for like ever.

But she said she would get a message to you, but you never came so we left. you just dissed us all over the place, so now I told June to run over the pin she has for you like 20 times to teach you to ignor us.... Yea baby we're mean just look at we did to Bob's phone.

I wasn't told that you stopped by until after 11:00. Next time make sure that the person calls me on the radio! If I'm not super busy I will come and meet you. I'll even turn the flashing lights on just for you. lol
