if on Dining Plan, can i get appetizer and pay OOP?

i know that appetizers are not included in the dining plan, but can i order one and ask the server to bill me separately for them and then pay OOP for them? same for alcohol?

Yep! You still get a bill at the end even on the DDP to add the tip. Your app and drinks and any other extras will be billed here along with the dining credit subtractions. Word of caution - always look over the bill and make sure they subtract the correct number of credits.
