If no ADR for Whispering Canyon can you just walk up and see?

If there are no available ADR, do you have a shot if you just go and see? Or will they not even consider you if there are no openings? Thanks

It doesn't hurt to try. We managed to just walk in and be immediately seated at Le Cellier in January. It was for lunch and at 11:30 w/ a party of 2, so that could make a difference. My friend insisted we give it a try and I thought that there was no way. When she came back and said they could seat us in 10 minutes, I was dumbfounded. You just never know. I would go a little early before the crowds arrive for a meal and give it a shot. All that they can tell you is yes or no. I believe that they get cancellations all the time so you never know when a table might open up. Good luck. Ed

I wouldn't take a trip out the the Wilderness Lodge to check, but if you're already there, it cannot hurt to ask.

Agree. Always worth to ask. Or call Disney Dining before you go and see if you can get an ADR.
We have walked up to WCC for breakfast twice and easily seated. I think once was on a Thursday (I think second week in December) and another was on a Saturday.
Neither time was packed, nor even near half full.
Might have just been good timing for us. :wizard: (Table for 2 both times.)

If you're going to be there anyway, walk up and ask. A family of 4 ahead of us last month walked up without ADR's at 6:30 PM and were told 90 minutes. We got our table immediately, but they were seated within 30 minutes.

It probably depends a lot on when you show up and check.

We were there in early May, and somehow managed to arrive about an hour before our ADR. We wandered around the resort for awhile, and then went to the restaurant. They seated us right away -- 45 minutes early -- and I don't think the place was ever more than half full. That was on a Monday night, a little before 7 PM, checking in for a 7:30 PM ADR.

If you're going at a busy time -- especially during free dining -- you may have different luck.

In addition to walking up, keep in mind you can always call Disney Dining. People have reported being in line at a restaurant to check walk-in status, calling Disney Dining and getting an ADR for 5 minutes later.

I have also had the opposite experience. We were at WL and called Disney Dining, but they said nothing. Walked up to the podium and they sat us immediately

We were there in April. We tried to call same day and get ADR's but they did not have any available. So since were staying at WL, we went down and did stand-by and were seated within about 15 minutes. It was on the early side (maybe 5:30ish) and there is plenty to look at in the lobby so it was not a big deal. I think WCC was DH's second favorite meal the whole trip - he loved the bottomless skillet!

::yes:: That's happened to me.
