Ok, heading to WDW in October with an extended family trip. Will need three rooms - one room for Dmom and Ddad, one room for Dsis and BIL and their 2 boys (ages 2 and 4) and one room for DH, DD7 and me. My parents and my family are semi-local and have been to WDW a lot. My sister and her family have only been once before--when the boys were 3 mos and 22 mos. So, this is a big vacation for them.

If money were no object, where would you have this motley crew stay? I'm not talking concierge-levels and suites, but just the best hotel in terms of location, convenience to parks we will likely spend time in, child friendliness, etc.

Many thanks!

I was going to mention the Cabins, but your parents renting a cabin for just the two of them might be silly... then again... maybe they'd like all the room and the grandkids could bunk with them on occasion :teeth:

I'd go with a resort right on the 7 seas lagoon, my favorite for kids being WL. There's the boat to the MK docks, a boat over to FW and the petting zoo, as well as their Chip & Dale Campfire singalong & all of the 7 seas resorts have the Water pagent parade in the evenings after the MK fireworks.

Yatch Club/Beach Club. Great location, great pool for the kids...

If money were no object, I would go with a Grand Villa at the BW!! The location is awesome!! It would also be cool(or not) to have everyone in your own little 'house'. I've stayed in one before and would love to bring the family down to share it with.

My second vote would have to be the Poly. Great pool for the kids, easy transportation and great atmosphere.

Good luck!

The Polynesian. We could stay anywhere else but we stay there because we love it. Well, we couldn't afford the suites so the Poly is the next best thing!

Another vote for YC/BC. Great location and pool.

YC/BC in the Epcot Area-pool and excellent location for Boardwalk, EPCOT and MGM Money is no problem--how about Garden Rooms at the BWI.

Grand Floridian-excellent restaurants right there, monorail, elegant and special. Go for one of the really neat rooms if money is no conideration.

With the ages of the kids, I would say the WL or Poly. You will probably spend a lot of time at the MK. There are a lot of things to do at the WL and they have the boat to MK....

I know you said "if money is not object" but I think you can save a little money if you look at the suites and 1 bedrooms at the Boardwalk. They are very nice and I got a great price there once.

With kids that age I would say Poly, GF or WL. Being on the monorail or having boat service to MK is priceless. Plus they are all beautiful and relaxing resorts which I think all of you would appreciate.

Although I prefer the Epcot area resorts - for kids that age, with money being no object, I'd choose the Grand Floridian.

In terms of convenience for 3 rooms? Rent out a grand villa for the week at one of Disney's Home Away From Home resorts. I can really see these being worth it if you go down with a huge group of people.

WL...hands down. Kids love it.......older folks love it.........I love it...... LOL

I agree about the ages of the kids - I'd say the Poly or the WL. We love YC but we don't spend nearly the time in MK as we did when ds was under 7.

Due to the ages of the kids I would recommend the Polynesian. Larger rooms than Yacht and Beach. Great pool for kids. While the pool at the Yacht and Beach is fabulous, I do not consider it kid friendly for small kids.

Great fast food area at Captain Cooks, nice playground, water activities, the monorail.

Next would be Wilderness Lodge.

Id choose Villa at the BW or Poly.
They have gr8 locations & both have good resturants close by

Thanks to all who responded. I will pass the recommendations along...
