If it's 9pm, it's not thunder, it's Illuminations!

I'm housesitting for my DD and DSIL while they are in England. I've been here at their house in Clermont several times before, it hasn't happened before, but this year I can clearly hear the booms from the fireworks if I have the tv sound on low. If I were to go up to the front of the subdivision, I could see them too, but I'm too lazy!

I always loved hearing Wishes when I stayed at my parents' vacation place down here (early summer). Never had to look at the clock to know it was 10, and if I felt like it, I could go out to their driveway and see the fireworks, too.

Now that I live down here, 2 right turns away from their house, a 5-minute walk, I can't hear them anymore. Hmph. However, I could walk about 1/10 of a mile away and have a sweet view of them across a lake.

Exactly! The first Grad Night really threw me off this past May.

I stayed at a hotel close to DL many years ago for a conference... it was before I'd ever been to any Disney park and I had no idea there were fireworks... quite a surprise!

I have a dog who is thunderstorm phobic. I wonder if I lived here how long it would take her to realize not every boom is part of a storm.

I took my "granddogs" out last night to do their buisness a few minutes after 8pm and I heard booms from Wishes very faintly.

This house is so far west of WDW I'm still suprised to hear them. I love these rolling hills here in Clermont, where I'm from it's flat as a pancake, just as hot as it here, but no wonderful breeze!
