If Inside Out is successful...

Oh. You mean like one of WDW's best attractions that they let rot away to nothing?

Unfortunately this attraction was left to rot away because no one was going to see it anymore. One of the last times we went to see it there were 3 or 4 other people in there. I think sometimes we miss things when they are gone and they're gone because we didn't appreciate them enough when they were there.

Sort of like my last 5 experiences with the Tiki Room. And yet.....

It really would be wonderful if they could use this to revitalize the Wonders of Life pavilion. I mean... the Imagination pavilion needs some work/restoration to its former glory, but the Wonders pavilion is just CLOSED. For a park that still feels like it lacks attractions, re-opening an entire pavilion would be a huge load off of the other E-ticket rides.

Nothing is going to happen quickly. This movie is no Frozen, and look how long it took for them to get rolling on that.

Well, since the movie is based on the attraction Cranium Command (photos were posted up thread), which was in Wonders of Life, it would make sense to do something in there, but Disney usually doesn't do what makes sense.

I am confident that it is going to be a huge success. The cast is phenomenal, the storyline is unique and my friend on "the inside" says its going to be big.

Frozen was a moneymaking phenomenon. This one will probably get them a nice tidy profit but nothing like that.

I don't know about how successful the movie will be (I'm afraid Jurassic Park sucked a lot of dollars away), but I like your idea Ambear. The characters from the movie would be perfect for the health pavilion.

It hasnt even come out yet though and I know people see more than one movie a month, especially in the summer. Also the demographic is a lot larger for Inside Out.

Which I don't get it. Frozen wasn't that BIG of a deal. I love Disney movies but I wouldn't rank Frozen over Toy Story, Nemo, or Incredibles.

I will end up seeing this because I worship Pixar but I just wasn't remotely impressed by the trailer. The reviews on RT so far are unbelievable. Is this really that good? I thought the trailer and all the little spots I've seen so far were so cliche and I didn't laugh at any of it, or even think it was particularly creative. I know Pixar trailers are always awful though.
It is really that good.

Is Inside Out going to top Frozen? Of course not (for many of the reasons discussed - lack of music, no princesses, etc). However, I think it's a mistake to judge a movie's success and guess whether Disney will be build an attraction around it by comparing it to Frozen. That's like saying Toy Story 3 and the Lion King were failures because they "only" made about $1 billion each at the box office. Should Disney not have made attractions based on those films? Cars initially wasn't a big box office hit (at least compared to other Pixar films) but DCA got an entire land around it. I don't think Disney's bar to make an attraction out of an animated movie is it has to be the highest grossing animated film of all time.

As much as I loved the original Imagination as a child, I have no doubt that Disney is aware: 1) how stale the attraction has become, 2) Epcot's lack of "A" rides (in Fastpass+ terms). Keep in mind Kodak's sponsorship of Imagination ended in 2010 and the only thing Disney likes more than building an attraction based on their IP is bringing in a sponsor to pay for it!

But why the Imagination Pavilion? Why not refresh Cranium Command since the premise of the movie so closely tracks the premise of that ride?

The wheels of justice turn slowly with Disney, but the inside scoop (addoring to Jim Hill of jimhillmedia) is that imagineers are crossing their fingers and praying this movie is a HUGE success. The success of this movie will depend how soon a makeover may occur to the Imagination theatre.
