I am within the 90 day mark for our vacation to WDW. We are staying 2 nights at the YC and 6 nights at the GF. We will be arriving the day after Thanksgiving.. Anyway, I had to have major surgery and did not make PS like I should have. I have made some now, but could not get one at Cinderella's Castle for either breakfast or lunch during that timeframe. I have 3 girls (10,7,3) and I had so hoped to take them. We've been to WDW before, but have never ate with the princesses at the castle. I feel so terrible about not getting that PS. My girls will be heartbroken. Here are some options:
Option 1: Should I just keep calling back to see if I can get into cindy's?
Option 2: I had been thinking about maybe trying to upgrade to concierge anyway because it sounds so nice and since our summer beach vacation was shortened (ie. saved some money there), but my husband is not sure it is worth it. Anyway if I were able to upgrade to concierge at either YC or GF would they be able to get us a PS at cindy's that is "booked up" when I call. This is all assuming that there are any concierge level rooms available.
Option 3: Any ideas?

By the way, when is that date that people have to cancel or lose their deposits? That may be a good time for me to call if concierge is booked up now. Sorry this is so long, but any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I would say your chances would double if the reservation request was made by the concierge desk.

They have never failed us. Even got us same day tickets for sold out La Nouba show or Cali Grill during Wishers - window view.

Good luck. ;)

Were they able to get your CRT after it was sold out?? Or did they get it for prior to that?

The concierge will tell you flat out that they will try, but there are no promises. If it's sold out, it's sold out.

Best bet is to keep trying, and even try walking up first thing in the morning a couple times, sometimes they ahve last minute cancellations and can accomodate you.

I have seen posts on the board that concierge was able to get them all ressies EXCEPT Cindy's, so they can't get it all the time.

I don't think it would be worth the $80 per day or so just for the chance they could get it.

I booked Poly concierge for Nov. 2003 8 months out, but failed to request CRT at the 90 day mark. Needless to say we never got it even with conc. help.

Try this: Get the number directly to the kitchen of the restaurant and ask to speak with the manager. Tell him your story, be really nice and all that and see if he can fit you in for any of the days you'll be there. This did work for me for a 8/2004 trip. Don't know if it will work for you it may have just been one of those things meant to be but... give it a try!

Each time I have stayed concierge and wanted CRT, they were able to get it for me. They told me upfront that they would have to wait until 2 weeks before the date I wanted to attend and that there was not a guarantee that they would be able to get it. I was always flexible with my dates and time. It worked out for me. One year I got both CRT and Storybook breakfast. I guess it just depends on availability.

Alice,

I don't think I have gotten CRT after it was announced as "sold out" ( I don't check) but I have gotten them through concierge with just two weeks notice.

In fact my brother and his family had a months notice that they were going to the POLY concierge this May. I listed all reservations they would need and told them the trickiest to get would be CRT. Concierge got it for them 30 days out.

Course it's not that busy in May. Could be I just got lucky with the season.

You'll have to decide if its worth the extra $.

But I do think the strategy of calling everyday could do the trick. Hope some pixie dust comes your way :wizard:

Alice,

If you're interested in "trying out" concierge, I would upgrade the 2 nights at the YC (unless you can afford all 6 at the GF). I found the pre-planning staff there to be probably the best on site. Nothing is guaranteed, but they were able to make some magic happen for me. Even if you are not planning on having your CRT breakfast until you're at the GF, they can probably still help you out with getting that PS. In addition to the pre-planning benefit, they have a nice lounge setup and you can definitely plan on eating breakfast there in the morning and ending your evening with a nice glass of wine or a cordial and dessert.

If you make the upgrade, send them an e-mail as soon as possible to get the ball rolling. They sent me a nice package of park maps, recreation guides and resort information.

I would go for it, you won't be dissapointed! We upgraded with less than 90 days to go to the Poly concierge and they were able to get us CRT. Even if they can't, it is still worth it, especially with kids. The lounge was invaluable for us, you know how often kids want a glass of juice or a snack and it was very handy to just walk down the hall to the lounge.
