If I purchase PH tickets now, can they be applied to FD offer later?

Hello! I have a couple question about the logistics of purchasing tickets and having them added to a reservation.

We are planning a trip this fall, and have booked a room-only reservation for early October. We hope to be able to use a room-only discount if one is offered for our time frame. If a room-only discount is not available for our dates, but a FD offer comes out, we would try to grab that.

I understand that ticket prices are anticipated going up in April.

I am considering purchasing Park Hopper tickets for our vacation, separate from our room reservation, so that the option of using a room discount would still be open (if one comes out). However, I need to know if those already-purchased tickets can be applied to a package, if our best option is to do FD (and not a room-only discount). Also, will it complicate things if I purchase those tickets through Underground Tourist rather than directly from Disney? Can UT tickets be applied to a resort-only reservation to make it a package?

No, previously purchased tickets cannot be used towards a package.

No you can't apply those tickets to a package.

What I would do is just book your room and tickets together directly through Disney as a package without the dining plan.

Then if free dining comes out have it applied to your package or if only a room only discount comes out you can have that applied to your reservation.

You will have to buy a minimum of 2 day park tickets to qualify for a free dining offer.

You may save $5 a piece buying your tickets through Undercover Tourist but then that messes up your ability to get free dining if it comes out.

1. Unless you are either an Annual Passholder, a DVC Member staying on points, or using a Military discount, to be able to get any version of DDP you must book room, dining, and at least one night ticket for each person on the reservation.

2. To get "free" dining you must book room, dining and at least a two-day ticket for each person age 3 or older on the reservation. And the rooms are at "rack" rate.

3. All Disney tickets are "front-loaded" so the first days are the most expensive. It makes absolutely no economic sense to use two separate tickets on the same trip. And if you have your package tickets removed from the room key to save for another trip, you may either (a) lose them, or (b) not be able to use them as you are getting another package.

Thank you all. It sounds like getting tickets through Disney and adding them to the reservation is the best bet at this point.
