If I have Dessert Party reservation for December 30

Does that mean I can definitely get into magic kingdom in the afternoon? And we are resort guests also.

We have planned morning/early afternoon at animal kingdom and then heading to magic kingdom at 4.

And the dessert party is special event so my mom can enjoy the fireworks

You will LIKELY be able to get into MK, even if it is in some phase of closure.

However (and this is highly unlikely,) if MK is in the highest phase of closure ("Phase 4" it is sometime called,) no additional guests would be admitted, regardless of meal or event reservation or ticket type.

MK has not experienced a higher level of closure in the past several years.

MK has not experienced a higher level of closure in the past several years.

Several, as in like, or close to, a decade. And that was without the added acreage of Pete's and Fantasy Land expansion.
OP, you have nothing to worry about in regards to being allowed access to MK on the 30th.
I would never advise anyone to plan to walk up and buy a 1 day ticket to MK any day that week or weekend but anyone else will be allowed in.
We'll be there too but at the late Dessert Party

ETA - I think even when they have had phased closures they've been reopened by late afternoon, but I'm not certain on the times
