So I'm 2 weeks into Atkins and staying with induction. To tell the truth I did cheat a bit last weekend but miracle of miracles not near as much as I had planned to. Didn't really want to. And the day I did eat granola, yogurt and some waffle fries made me feel miserable the next day. Am enjoying all the advice but haven't seen this......
I'm really not a big fan of eggs and have been forcing them down scrambled, fried, green pepper and tomato omelet and today I hit the wall. Could not eat one more. I start my job early in the day so it is a long time until lunch. I used to eat yogurt mixed with granola but gave it up. I really love bagels but no more.....

So does anyone else have a breakfast menu I can try? Haven't seen too many Atkins products in my neck of the woods except the shakes. Anyone tried these? I tried some low carb mixed berry bar from Walmart and yuck!!
Thanks

OK heres my issue with eggs.......Although I do like them I cant eat them solo. I bought the atkins bread and add cheese and bacon or cheese and ham. So if youve really had enough with the eggs..........(please know I am not following atkins so check this advise) I would try that low carb ice cream and make a shake of my own shakes do fill ya up quickly. Think I may try it!
good luck

Make the eggs into deviled eggs for a change.
Dip a slice of low carb bread in the raw egg to make french toast.

Look at the recipe section on the WISH board there are alot of great recipes.

I drink the Atkins shakes for breakfast. The only one I like is the chocolate delight flavor. It is very good and filling. To give you some comparison I had tried the slimfast shakes at one time and I thought they were terrible. The atkins shakes are made with splenda, which my DH thinks has a strange taste so he doesn't like the shakes. My DS likes them so much he asks for a sip every morning. I hope this helps. Other than eggs and the shakes I am at a loss for what to eat for breakfast. I know some people eat their lunch or dinner leftovers, but I just can't do that in the morning.:D

I am still in an induction type phase, also. I like the loss I am still experiencing. But I also know what you are saying about sick of eggs. Try the recipe for "mock danish" it is yummy! You can find it in the low carb recipe thread. Also, the Atkins shakes are VERY good! I like all of them....especially over ice. Sometimes I have a slice of Natural Ovens low carb toast with butter, cheese, or low carb peanut butter on it. Although I have to have a piece of toast with my eggs in the morning-I can't do eggs without it! Stick with it, though!! I love it!!

I don't know about induction but I make low-carb egg custard often (the main ingredients are eggs & heavy cream and I sweeten it with some Splenda). A serving is 3 carbs but it takes 2 servings to fill me up.

I also make low-carb cheesecake. The crust is basically ground up almonds and butter, and the filling is the Philly cream cheese recipe with Splenda instead of sugar. This has 14 carbs per serving. I love eating cheesecake for breakfast! :p

I agree, try the Mock Danish, it is really good! :)

I don't have a problem with eggs, since I love them so much, so I can't help you out there, but what if you did them different each day? Scrambled, deviled, over easy, ect? Would that help?

:)

If you don't want to eat eggs... don't eat them!

Have a hamburger for breakfast.

Eat a salad.

Have some veggies.

Have leftovers from the night before.

Try layering slices of American cheese on deli ham and rolling them up.

Spread cream cheese on deli meat and roll up, or add a small pickle spear for an extra oomph.

Have cheesecake for breakfast (look for a GREAT recipe on the Eating Healthy board.

-----

Once you're past induction...

Try cottage cheese mixed with chopped pecans and sugar-free DaVinci or maple syrup, or Splenda.

Or, try a hot "porridge" (tastes like cream of wheat) made with ricotta, ground flax, cream and an egg.

Or make yourself some bran/flax muffins for breakfast.

-----

You're much better off staying away from processed foods (including those bars, muffin & cookie mixes, frankenfoods, even shakes full of chemicals), and eating whole, natural foods as much as possible. It's even easy to make your own protein shake at home with cream, flavorings, low-glycemic fruit, etc.

There's absolutely NO reason to eat something you don't like, or eat the same things over and over, when you're eating low-carb.

I believe I got the hint here on WISH, but what I do when I can't face one more egg is brown up some ground beef and melt a little cheese over it. It's hard to get past the "only breakfast food for breakfast" mentality, but you can do it!

I also eat sausage links during the week if I'm in a rush. 2 or 3 links keep me going until lunch time.

If you don't want to use hamburger in the morning you could do it with ground breakfast sausage as well.

I take low carb bread and toast it, fry up 2 slices of ham put that over the bread and then melt a piece of American Cheese on it - YUMMY! Also for breakfast I take slices of turkey, ham, and even salami and wrap it up with a slice of cheese. I don't know if you can do this in induction but cream cheese and celery or Peanut butter and celry.
