If I cancel my SW credit card, what happens to my points?

Do I lose my points if I decide to cancel my Southwest Credit card? I have about 30,000 points that I use occasionally but this is not my primary credit card plus I have a $99 annual fee that gives me 6K points. I got an offer to upgrade my Disney card to the prime one for $49/year and gives double points on gas, grocery, restaurants. I can also use my points as a credit on my credit card if I buy airline tickets from any airline.

Also, can I already turn my Disney 'dollars' on my Disney Visa to put as credit on my account on my 'free' card? I usually use my Disney points towards a Disney redemption card and on the Disney store online.

Nothing happens to your points. I cancelled mine before the renewal date so that I didn't have to pay the annual fee.

Not sure about the Disney Visa.

PP is correct you will get to keep your SWA points

Just to be clear, the points you earn and any bonus points, are deposited in your Southwest Rapid Rewards account, with the airline, on the date of your statement. If you cancel your credit card, the points remain in your SWA account.

it is important to note that since you wont have any more points coming in on your CC they start the clock twords expiration though. For southwest, if you don't have some sort of transaction (CC, flight, buy flowers and get FF miles, etc) then you will lose them after 24 months of no activity. so don't forget they are there, go use them!
