If I buy tickets from Undercover Tourist Magic FP+/MB Question

We are going to WDW on mid July. I feel terribly behind in our planning. We just did our ADR's a few days ago and of course there were a few places had absolutely no availability. 180 days... I'm planning dinner 180 days in advance. Ugh...

Anyway. I have not yet bought our park tickets and want to buy them from Undercover Tourist to save a few dollars. BUT. How will I be able to do FP+ if I do this? I'm late doing that too. Although I admit I have not even read how FP+ works, the idea of booking which ride I'll go on mid-morning on Tuesday while I'm still 60+ days away is a bit disturbing for me. I guess I'm falling behind in the times. Don't get me wrong, I used to be a WDW super planner and I guess I just don't have it in me any more.

Anyway,

Can I buy tickets from UT and then book FP+ What are my options. I think I'm only saving 60 to maybe 100 dollars. If I buy them on WDW site and link them to my itinerary and then do the FP+.

I need some guidance on this one.

Thanks for listening to my rant. Still love WDW but I'm no longer the super planner I used to be.

[[[edit]]] Just did a little poking around and it would appear I can enter a number from the tickets (purchased from UT) and link them to my reservation and then do FP+. Would appreciate it if those in the know would chime in and add to this. There may be some gotcha's that we should know about. Thanks.

You can book FP+ with tickets from UT, you just have to wait for them to arrive to enter them into the app (it took about 10 days for mine to arrive).

You might be able to ask the UT folks for a ticket # or something and input them before they arrive to help, but looking at FP+ bookings online, nearly everything was open a day or 2 before except for A&E and 7DMT...so don't stress about having it 40 days as opposed to 60 days ahead. I wasn't able to get BoG ADRs 180 days in advance, I'm hoping for a lunchtime FP+. Its vacation, can't stress too much!

we too bought our tickets from a discount ticketer-and in less than the 30 day window-going next week and booked our ADR and FP+ about 2 1/2 weeks ago. just make sure ALL your family tickets are linked and on your MDE account. (even managed to snag a SDMT and M&G with A&E Fastpass+)
FYI my MIL and FIL bought their tickets about a week and 1/2 ago and I was able to copy our FP+ and ADR to them for the days they are with us...

Howdy Roveer...You put into words EXACTLY what I have been experiencing. I'm in the same boat, only heading to WDW over Labor Day weekend. I *used* to be pretty decent at planning all this stuff, but I have been knocked from that pedestal by FP+. We were finally at the point of WDW experience that we were confident we could knock out a really decent amount of stuff in 3 days, but Noooooooooo~WDW had to go and change everything while my kids attended college using up any vacation funds. So now I am in my 50's and basically not thrilled about having to re-learn the approach. I'm also stressed about heading into (what is still a pricey trip) without the comfort and confidence of applying years of touring knowledge. The ADR thing doesn't bug me too much as we did FD one year and disliked, a lot, having to work around the ADR schedule rather than our own. Since our trip is so short that is adding extra pressure AND we are off-site for all but our arrival night instead of our usual on-site for 8-10 nights. Normally I wouldn't buy our tix until a 2 weeks out or so in case we needed to adjust them in any way but now I feel pressured into getting them by the 60 day mark. Add To that , that we can only do 2 days of FP choices for the 1 night we are staying on property, then we have to wait until the 30 day mark for our last day since we will have moved off site by then. When does the fun part of planning start? It has just been like a nagging stress so far. The cost is still typical of a WDW trip so there is pressure to make it be as much fun as before~ but I have read too many reports of this being the nail in the coffin for WDW trips.
I am hoping for manageable crowds and that I am dead wrong in my fears. I hope this new system is like hot fudge on a sundae and I wonder how I ever lived without it.
Sorry for my rant as well...but wanted to let you know you are not alone!:goodvibes

I bought our tickets from UT and it took about 12 business days to come in... I was starting to get a little concerned but I order far enough in advance that I still had time to fix any issues.... Anyways i was able to link them to my reservation with no issues and I was able to get all of my ADR's at the 180 mark, and that includes BOG for dinner. I book FP+ a month from now and I do plan on being up at 12AM so try and get 7DMT... So anything is possible, you just have to want it bad enough! LOL

To be clear ADRs are based on the resort reservation (to get the 180+10) and FP+ is based on tickets being linked in the reservation??

you didnt specify if you are staying onsite. if you are staying onsite and if you are going in july you already missed the opening of the 60 day window. If you put the UT tickets in the cart it tells you what day they will get to you by...my recent purchase was 10 days. if this is within a timeframe that allows for you to still book before others have access at 30days i would probably do it. otherwise i would be inclined to buy from disney to get them linked right away.

sorry for double posting and for poor punctuation...using my phone and i am not very good at it!

Yes, we are staying on-site. First week at OKW and 2nd week at GFV.

This all comes down to me not super stalking this vacation 200+ days in advance. Creating a war room, getting up at 12am or whenever it took for ADR's. Not shelling out the 2,500+ for tkts (we are 6) 6 months in advance and then setup up a WWII style warboard complete with riding crop to move the pieces around the board to map out our movements and coordinate FP+.

Believe me, we've been to WDW when we are walking aimlessly looking for something to eat because we did not do our ADR's that's no fun. But having to plan and pay one year + for everything is getting old.

Oh well, we are good enough at this that we will overcome it all. We did get almost all of our ADR's now I have to get the FP+ thing worked out.

Time to go and watch Patton in order to get myself psyched up.

To follow up on this thread. I purchased from UT specified overnight shipping had the tix in 2 days. You log into the Disney website and link the tickets to your reservation by putting in the number on the ticket. Couldn't be easier. I think another poster already mentioned this but I wanted to let everyone know it was pretty easy. Now if I could just get reservations for BOG :furious:

I ordered my UT tickets on Saturday, and received them today. I scanned the code on the back of the ticket with MDE app, and it did all the work for me.

We are 32 days out, so I was expecting to not get some fastpass selections, but had no problems getting everything we wanted, including 7DMT and A&E!

Now, if I could just figure out how to get a cool front to blow thru central Florida the last week of July, everything would be perfect!! ;)

Woohoo! Awesome! Have a great trip!

Snayak : I contacted UT Customer Service and ask if they could provide me the ticket number before they send the physical ticket over. Their reply is : they could send me the ticket number only if I pickup the ticket at their office. Sending by post one does not provide this service. So I wrote back I told them that I am from overseas there is no way I could get to their office to pickup. Ask if they could do me a favor by providing the ticket number before sending it off. I am planning to only order 1 ticket for myself. The answer I got back from them is..... I should buy directly from Disney online to save time and money!! *shock*. Is that how they do business?? The other question I ask about Kennedy Space Centre tour.... They replied me the same thing... I should order directly from Grayline Orlando... They are the source provider. Now I am furious.... Base on recommendation from this board... I was planning to buy a 4 / 5 WDW hopper, water parks & more no expiry ticket, 1 Kennedy Space centre tour n one 2 day park to park universal studio ticket from UT. Since they kept asking me to buy direct, means that I am not welcomed. Now I am looking for another company to buy from.
