If I buy Disney giftcards can I apply them to my account on checkin day?

Can I put my Disney cards on my room card account when I'm checking in ? If so, after my trip if money is still left how do they credit you back?

Some CMs will take the time to apply GCs to your room account when you check in. If you get one who cannot or will not do it, you can always stop by the desk at some point during your stay and have them apply enough GCs to knock your balance down. There was one time that I did this and the CM who handled it asked me if I wanted to leave the balance from the last GC on my room account. It was only a few dollars and I knew we would be spending it as well. But if we had not spent that money, it would have gone back on the last GC. So, don't toss the used GCs just because they've got a zero balance. Any refunds from the room account will go on them.

If you are planning to use your KTTW for charging privileges, it adds up quick. When your account reaches a certain amount they will automatically charge your credit card. Best to check every 2-3 days.

We just came back and at check in I paid the room in full with my gift cards. They would not apply anything more than a current balance so I would go every 3 days and apply what I had charged. If you reach $1500. they automatically charge to your cc on file so as long as you don't let the balance get that high you are safe. We used no cash on the trip and paid for everything with our magic bands - kttwc work the same. I ended up with $9.50 left over when I checked out

The threshold depends on your resort category. It's $1500 if you're staying at a Deluxe Resort. If you're at a Value Resort, the threshold is only $500 before they charge your credit card. At Moderate Resorts, it's $1000.

Depends on who you get at check-in. One CM told me I could not use more giftcards than was already charged to room. Later a CM was able to use all giftcards and even refund to my credit card the amount already charged. Stayed at Pop.
