OMG...........Lea Michele of Glee is the best performer in many a year. just saw the show for the first time tonite. she took on Striesand and Clarkson in the same show and blew it out the park.
I agree that her "Parade" blew away Barbra. Of course, I am no lover of Barbra (sorry!!!) so it's easy to top her in my opinion. I would like to see her in a Funny Girl remake! "People....people who need people...."
I still like the Clarkson version of that song, though. But what a great song for that end sequence!!!
I've been listening to the CD's and maybe it's my overly critical music teacher ears kicking in but it really seems like they all really "grew" into their voices over the episodes. The CD's are arranged chronologically and by the end they really "own" what they do!!
Can't WAIT for this show to come back! Will and Emma forever!!!!
One of my absolute favorites was when Kristin Chenoweth and Lea Michelle performed "Maybe This Time". Both it and the Lea Michelle/Chris Colfer rendition of "Defying Gravity" give me chills!
Have you ever seen the movie "In and Out" with Kevin Kline? I LOVE the scene where they taunt him that she was too old to be in Funny Girl!
And btw, what does Will say to Emma at the very end after he kisses her? Both times we've watched it, our DVR cuts off the recording right as he opens his mouth to say something!!!
Ahhh, Barbra, I don't think I ever met a Barbra movie I didn't like, "like buttah". Saw her live in NY. Stood hours in NJ so I could get tickets. My first Significant Other liked her and his favorite song was "Sam, you made the pants to long". I bought it for him, broke up with him, opened the album and haven't missed a movie she made. I even liked "what's up doc?" Spring cleaning, Barbra on the stereo singing her heart out, me singing along with her, windows open, dogs and neighbors complaining Life doesn't get any better. I love it when you guys pull out the memories. Penny
