If given upgrade car for free does this affect insurance?

When we got our Frequent Virgin 10% discount we were also offered a free upgrade of car, but she said that we would have to pay more insurance so i declined (there are only 2 of us)

Then it occured to me that we have been given an upgraded car for free sometimes at the collection point - should we have changed our insurance too (we always have the insurance that the package provides).

What grade car have you got? Because as standard for 2 people you would normally get an 'E' class car and get an upgrade to 'C' with the Frequent Virgin upgrade. On this there was no additional insurance payable as they full in the same price bracket.

However when we arrived at MCO (note that there is a seperate queue for Frequent Virgins at the Virgin/Dollar desk ) we were offered an upgrade of car which we took (paid for upgrade) but the insurance package covered us for a much better car - something to do with the offers they do for frequent virgins.

It may be worth you giving them a call - you might get a better car

Hmmm. I usually never take them up the offer of an upgrade at the desk.

This is how they make all their extra money...

Sometime u get the upgrade for free anyway cos thats all they've got left.

Twice now I've booked a compact car and got a free SUV.

We booked an intermediate car with insurance from virgin and got an upgrade to full size as we are also frequent Virgins and there was no extra to pay, the insurance was the same.
