If the new "Frozen After Ever" ride is given a Tier 1 designation for Epcot for the FP+ what will you choose as your Tier 1 pick? (Disclaimer: Hypothetical "Frozen After Ever" has not been given a FP+ designation).

If it's like the Mermaid ride in MK it's going to have a pretty fast moving que so I'll stick with Soarin

Interesting. . . If it were simply added as a tier 1 instead of removing a different one, there would be practically as many tier 1 rides as tier 2! Turtle talk, Spaceship Earth, Figment, Mission:Space, EO. . . . What am I missing?

I answered Test Track for myself because I get motion sick on Soarin, can catch Land and Spaceship with decent standby, and I forgot that I'd probably FP a Frozen once just to see it then ride TT single rider that trip.

Nemo and Character Spot as Tier 2's as well. Also Captain EO but rumor is that is being retired correct?

But great point I could see them moving Living with the Land to Tier 2.

I agree that they might very well move LWTL to Tier 2 where it belongs. Since we always split Epcot into 2 days, doing east side one day and west side the next, I can still FP both Soarin and TT. From the descriptions of the ride so far, I have no screaming desire to do the F ride.

What can I say....I have an 8 year girl, a 4 year old girl, and a 16 month old girl (who will stare at the movie all day long), and I love the movie as well! We will definitely choose it for our Tier 1 for one of those days!

Big brother has learned a lot of patience from having 3 little sisters!

I would pick soarin too (based on personal preference) but I wouldn't count on a short wait for frozen-it is supposed to be a boat ride just like maelstrom so it won't move as quickly as a ride like little mermaid, haunted mansion, etc. due to time required to unload/reload the boats

maelstrom was a tier one was it not?
whether it was or not i do assume FEA will indeed be a tier 1.

i'll stick to soarin for my tier 1.

i have a certain way that i tour epcot and choosing to FP+ FEA as a tier 1 just would not jive.

i'd do FEA later in the day without a FP+.

I voted Frozen. Flame away, I want to ride it, and I figure it will be a madhouse for at least a while (and I already know from the old A & E m & g that I can't outrun the Stroller Pushing Parents at RD).

Going solo, I do single rider for TT, and I'm banking I can do Soarin' at RD with a not unreasonable SB wait (assuming Frozen draws RD standbys like 7DMT does).

Depends on the queue wait times, since I would ride both every time I visit Epcot. Adding capacity to Soarin' may help its queue lengths. I'll just wait and see how it goes.

ETA - I voted Soarin' because that would be my choice to FP if queue lengths were equal (more for planning than anything else since Frozen will be in the World Showcase).

Too soon to tell. Odds are it'll be much higher capacity/faster loading than either Test Track or Soarin' so standby times are anyone's guess. How opening times are handled will also factor in, because Soarin' or Test Track can currently be done with minimal wait times at rope drop but if Frozen doesn't open until 11 with the rest of World Showcase there won't be a rope drop advantage there. And finally, when the third Soarin' screen opens the effect that has on standby times there will also make a difference to overall Epcot tier-one ride strategy.

My guess is Frozen will be tier one, and I hope that means Living with the Land moves to tier two because it is a must-do for us but obviously not worth a tier one FP. But until I see some real-world reports and other details for Frozen I can't even make a good guess at our FP strategy for it.

theres no way they will make that a tier one and still only let you pick on tier one ride then. if they do ill be really upset. i think if they put it in tier 1 they should let you pick to then since FEA, Soarain, TT and Illuminations will all be there.

The advantages of having an adult male child, don't have to make that choice. Soarin is still up there for me and I usually don't even use my other FPs at Epcot, you can usually just do standby for most things. If I have to ride it, I'll just wait until all the hoopla dies down and ride it standby. I didn't ride SDMT until I happened to be in the park for an early morning ADR and was walking by just before the masses got there and the cast member waved us in. I loved Maelstrom and never did it on FP either, just did stand by. You can almost always catch those rides if you are there at the right time of day.

The other open question is whether the ride will open immediately at park open, which is what I expect.

If it doesn't there will be a long line forming before the ride even opens, like there was for the Anna and Elsa meet and greet.

But, to get a first ride on it, I would get a FP for Frozen and focus on Future World first, just like we do now.

Because we usually get FPs in the evening, our normal approach to openings at Epcot is to go to Soarin, then TT single rider, then MS, and are usually able to do all 3 in not much more than an hour. If the Frozen ride does open immediately, that should take a little pressure off the crush at the other major attractions. Instead of everyone going right to Soarin or TT there would then be a lot of folks heading right to Norway.

Once I've had a chance to experience the new ride once, and see how it affects crowd patterns, I would reassess my approach to touring Epcot.

I agree that adding Frozen to the mix will probably move LWTL back to tier 2. It should also open up availability for TT and Soarin. When they open up the extra screen for Soarin, maybe that could be moved to tier 2.

I would fastpass Frozen.. Considering there is still a crazy ropedrop rush for both the Frozen meet and greet and the newer 7dmt, I would always opt to fastpass the brand new attraction. It will be drawing traffic from other stuff, so my goal would be to fastpass Frozen and try to get Soarin at rope drop followed by test track.

I'd definitely get a FP+ for Frozen. With the draw I expect this ride will have, rope drop becomes an even more effective way to ride Soarin or TT. I am expecting something else will be dropped to a Tier 2 though.

That ride line will be insane, I think I'll be waiting a few years. I'm going next year with a friend. We will FP Test Track!

The next time I go with the kids will will FP Frozen.

You might as well be prepared to be upset. This new system is all about making you choose early and making you excited about what you did get rather than what you didn't. In this thread there are already people hoping this makes Soarin or TT easier to get which is exactly what they're banking on.

Just look at the fact that people take Living with the Land as a Tier 1 attraction when it would often have little to no wait time or get FP for Journey because Disney manufactured a line by giving you an option for a FP on a ride that hasn't needed it since the first refurb.

This is the new Disney and it's all about lowering expectations.

Since we go to Epcot on multiple days during our vacation, it's really a non issue for us. We will have an opportunity to FP all of these rides during our trip and that's what we'll do. :)

I won't get a Frozen FP+ because I doubt I'll want to ride it. It's not a "boycott" thing--it just doesn't sound like it's something I'd be interested in doing. Maybe that will change once more info on the actual attraction is released. I realize I'm in the minority, but I'm pretty burned out on Frozen and a boat ride through Arendelle doesn't get me excited.

I'm hoping it will have a positive effect on other Epcot attractions--lower wait times for other Tier 1 attractions, moving LWTL back to Tier 2, etc., as discussed above.
