If flight cancelled/who ya gonna call

If cancelled flight who do you call.
Is there a DCV number ? And is there a regular Disney resort number?
 
I'd call MS. AFAIK, the listed numbers for the resorts go to a call center that may or may not even be on site. If there was any chance of flight cancellations (due to storms, for example), I'd call MS and ask them what to do if my flight gets cancelled. They may have a special TN you could use when they aren't open.
 
I'd say it somewhat depends on when the flight is cancelled and why you need to talk to someone.

We had an afternoon flight that was delayed so we would miss our connection home. Found out about it in the morning shortly before leaving the room at AKV. I called MS who booked a room for us that night - AKV still but needed to change rooms from Concierge to value 1BR.

If it's cancelled but rescheduled and you just need a new ME pick up then you can just go down to concierge and they'll reschedule that.

Depends.

Cancelled inbound and you're going to arrive later that same day? Maybe call the hotel to inform them of the late arrival.

Cancelled inbound and you'll arrive a day later? Call DME if your riding the bus and call MS to modify the reservation.

Cancelled inbound and your whole trip is cancelled? Call MS.

Cancelled return rescheduled the same day? DME.

Cancelled return and you need a room for another night? MS.
 

i am new to dvc just sent in closing doc Saturday.so if for some reason my flight get cancelled on the way down ,and i will be a day late will dvc put back the point for the day that was not used or am i out of luck ? what about if i have to cancell the whole trip what happens to all the points then thanks for any info

Cancellation rules are:

31 days or more in advance of check in the points will be returned to your account in the status they were taken out. So current back as current, banked back as banked, borrowed back as borrowed. If you are still within your banking window you would then be able to bank the current points if you were not going to be able to use them that UY.

30 days thru to the day before check in any cancellations place the points into holding. They are stuck in that UY of the reservation and will expire at the end of that UY unless used. They are also restricted for bookings in that you can only book the DVC resort 60 days or less from check in so you will be looking at limited inventory to choose from.

If you were to cancel the day of then all points are forfeited.

That said - some people do get pixie dust to not lose all their points but that's not a given to happen. If your flight were cancelled for that single day and you were on the next they will still keep your reservation as long as you contact them.

In order to keep the reservation, you might lose the points from the first night. If anything, they might go into holding if MS will salvage them. But the good part is you have a room as soon as you arrive if they know you are still coming and haven't cancelled your reservation (and you've lost all those points).
 
What happened to us last year when SW cancelled our trip out? Member Services did not put that night's points into holding, they stayed in the use year. We were very thankful.
